Selling Sunset viewers rage at Netflix after star is accused of posting racist tweets

The controversy surrounding the new season of Selling Sunset is reaching a fever pitch. A TikTok video featuring racist tweets from new cast member Amanda Lynn is the latest blow to the Netflix series.

With the new episodes still a few days away, a clip is circulating on social media revealing the realtor’s alleged old messages, in which she retweeted comments containing the n-word.

The video, posted by TikTok user stephwithdadeets, shows a screenshot of tweets Amanda posted in 2012 and 2013.

Two of the tweets contained a quote from another user who had used the n-word, while a third was a racist quote. Her profile is now private.

The TikTok user explained her findings in the video: ‘The newbie is Amanda Lynn. She’s also a realtor and she also has a racist past.

‘The season eight trailer reveals that Amanda Lynn is the one who goes to Bre [Tiesi] with the tea about Chelsea’s [Lazkani] husband.

‘Someone sent me these old tweets from Amanda Lynn. And Amanda Lynn used the n-word multiple times.’

The TikTok video has received a lot of attention online and was even reposted by Chelsea (31) from Selling Sunset. She shared the video on her profile without comment.

She then posted, “I’m going to tell you the truth about this season’s cast so you can decide who to support.

“Most of you have been blind for so long and I’m sorry I wasn’t before. I wanted to keep the peace to avoid being put down or seen as jealous.”

She continued, “But WHY should I really be jealous of anyone, let alone women? [sic] who don’t look like me.

‘I am my own mirror in the office and I have held my own from DAY 1. I am not afraid of any woman.’

The post was also shared en masse on Reddit and X, where users accused Netflix of not conducting thorough background checks on the cast.

A user responded to the TikTok video on X by saying, “New selling Sunset cast member Amanda Lynn with racist tweets.

“When we asked for drama, we weren’t asking for bigotry. Jesus is doing production, controlling these new women.”

On Reddit, someone else posted the following: ‘I really don’t get why they make Selling Sunset such a terrible show in terms of casting.

“Don’t they see how much people hate Selling The OC?! We don’t need a rerun.”

A third commented: ‘Real question – who in 2012 thought it was in any way acceptable to use the n-word? I certainly don’t and NEVER have. People really are worthless.’

DailyMail.com has reached out to Amanda and Netflix for comment.

Amanda, who describes herself as an international real estate agent, is one of the newcomers making her debut in season eight.

Chelsea also tweeted that she will tell ‘the truth about the cast’

Her explosive arrival was foreshadowed in the show’s trailer, which sees her telling her friend Bre that she’s “heard something” about Chelsea’s husband before news of their split breaks.

This latest controversy comes amid a huge cast row after early screenings revealed that Nicole Young secretly spread a rumor that Emma Hernan was having an affair with a married man in the upcoming season — prompting Chrishell Stause, 43, and Chelsea to speak out.

They claimed their 33-year-old friend was “blindsided” by Nicole’s “disgusting” and “absolutely false” lie and accused Done and Done Productions, the company behind Selling Sunset, of “spreading lies to attract viewers”.

In a series of explosive social media posts, Chrishell threatened to leave the hit show, vowed never to work with Nicole again, and criticized the production company for not giving Emma a chance to address the rumor.

She wrote: ‘Are we still giving airtime to LIARS who just want airtime?’

In another upload she wrote: ‘I will NEVER work on a show with her in it again. I’d rather get sued.’

‘Disclaimer: If you’re watching, please know that she’s spouting a disgusting lie about a best friend that is categorically FALSE and SUPER damaging. It is NOT TRUE.’

She then tagged Done and Done Productions and added, “You guys are disgusting for surprising her with this so she can show it to the world instead of at least giving her a chance to defend herself with the TRUTH.”

Chelsea also publicly criticized the “devilish” Nicole and the production company.

She said: ‘Good morning everyone except @nicoleyoung. You are the most devilish piece [wastebasket emoji] I once met.

“You want to spread a rumor about Emma because all the rumors about you are true. Okay, let’s see how this works out for you… @done_and_done_productions where is your moral high ground and integrity?? Spreading lies for views is so damaging.”

In another post, Chelsea tagged Nicole, Bre and Mary Bonnet’s Instagram accounts, adding: ‘You lie, appease, steal your own all the while [wastebasket emoji] has landed some of you in lawsuits. I have kept my mouth shut up until now, but this is not okay.’
