Selling Sunset star Heather Rae El Moussa breaks her silence on her shock absence from the Netflix show’s season seven promo

Selling Sunset star Heather Rae El Moussa has responded to her upcoming absence from the new season of the Netflix series.

A poster for season seven of the reality TV show, which focuses on estate agents at the Oppenheim Group, was released on Thursday, with Heather, 36, absent from the promotional photos.

The other cast members of the show – Chelsea Lazkani, Amanza Smith, Bre Tiesi, Nicole Young, Emma Hernan, Chrishell Stause, Mary Fitzgerald, as well as brothers Brett and Jason Oppenheim – were all on the poster.

Heather, who has starred on the popular series since season one, responded to her notable absence from the cast photo with a tongue-in-cheek caption in an Instagram post.

“Looks like I’ve been pushed into the water… it’s a good thing I can swim!” the real estate agent joked on social mediaalong with a snap of her looking coquettishly at the camera.

“Congratulations to my girls on S7!” she continued.

“You might see me in a few episodes.”

Heather also included a photo of the season seven poster, which premieres on November 3rd.

Fans and cast members flooded her post with comments about her exclusion from the show.

“I always love you, OG,” said Brett Oppenheim – who left the Oppenheim Group in 2020 to start his own brokerage, Oppenheim Real Estate.

“You and I both,” joked Davina Potratz, who left the Oppenheim group before the fourth season.

‘I’m the best swimmer in the office, I’ll save your beautiful face!!!! I love you,’ Emma breathed.

Some fans expressed their dismay at the news that she would be appearing less in the show.

“Wouldn’t bother watching if you’re barely into it,” one user wrote.

‘I loved seeing it! Who’s going to keep the peace now!’ exclaimed another.

Heather has said in the past that she has not been asked back to the series, which is about real estate agents who sell luxury properties in Southern California.

In a March interview with Adrienne Bailon and Keltie Knight for E! News, Heather hinted she wasn’t asked back about the series.

She told the hosts: ‘Season seven is filming now but I’ve been on maternity leave and I’ve been excited to go back to work and so far I haven’t been called back.’

There are some changes ahead for the estate agents working at the Oppenheim Group.

In addition to Heather’s absence, the agents will be working from a brand new office after being housed in a building in LA’s famed Sunset Plaza neighborhood.

There will be 11 episodes this upcoming season and the first episode will pick up where season six left off.

Heather and her husband, Flip Or Flop star Tarek El Moussa, also have their own HGTV series called The Flipping El Moussas, which premiered in March 2023.

When the show aired, Jason Oppenheim – the president and founder of The Oppenheim Group – was asked about Heather’s future on Selling Sunset, where he said he was unsure.

“I don’t get involved in the future of the agents,” he said at the time.

‘I know she will still be with the Oppenheim group. I think it’s with her and production and Netflix and all that.’

“I just want her at the office,” the realtor continued.

‘I hope she continues to film with us. I learned a long time ago not to get involved in all that stuff.’
