‘Selfish’ dad sparks outrage on a plane after refusing to sit with his family so he can enjoy a ‘child-free’ flight
A father’s ‘selfish’ act on the run has sparked anger among thousands of people who urged his partner to ‘file for divorce’.
Kristine boarded a plane with her two children and saw another mother struggling with carry-on luggage while holding a newborn and babysitting her toddler.
“I helped her get the luggage upstairs and we sat in the same row,” the mother said.
After seeing the father in another row ahead, Kristine offered to switch seats so the family could sit together. However, his response immediately sparked outrage.
‘He says, “Great, thanks” and sends another little child to sit with the mother. He enjoyed a child-free flight,” she wrote in the now-viral TikTok video.
The footage was taken from the aisle seat before they left, although the family cannot be seen. In the caption, she also wrote, “A little Sunday rage for you.”

Kristine said she was immediately shocked by the man’s reaction and initially didn’t know how to respond.
“I was like, ‘No, I need the aisle (seat) because my kids are in the back and I need to be able to help them,’” she recalls.
The first of two videos has since been viewed a whopping 4.4 million times, with others in an uproar over the situation.
“I would be so angry,” one commented, while another said: “I would have said no, that’s not what I meant, give me my seat back.”
“The absolute rage I feel right now,” a third wrote.
Another woman claimed: ‘I remember my ex-husband refusing to acknowledge me and my children for a nine-hour flight. they were one and a half years and four months old at the time.’
However, some men were on the father’s side.
“If they were to transfer, wouldn’t the child be alone?” someone asked.
Another said, “What if he was the stay-at-home mom and dad who finally took care of the kids so he could take a break?”

In the second video, Kristine addressed a commenter who viewed the story as fake.
“This post was pretty crazy, but what really stands out to me is how differently it is being received by men and women in the comments,” Kristine said.
“The mental gymnastics that men will do to defend this man is unreal.”
She explained that she was in 7D, while the mother and her toddler were in 7F and 7E. The father sat in 6C on the other side of the aisle, in the row in front.
“All I know now is that this woman boarded the plane with a baby, a toddler and carry-on luggage that she struggled to get over her head. So I helped her get over it and we sat down,” the mother continued.
‘The only reasonable option in this situation was for him to say, ‘No, thank you. I’m actually sitting here with my other child. Thanks anyway.’
