“I will never, ever, ever be more indebted to one person than to France,” said Selena, who needed the transplant due to her battle with lupus. “The thought of someone even hesitating to donate was incredibly daunting.”

During the new episode of Dear…, Selena revealed that Francia herself insisted on getting tested to see if she could donate her kidney.

Lifelong friends: during the new episode of Dear…, Selena revealed that France herself insisted on getting tested to see if she could donate her kidney.
Francia, an actress, first met Selena in 2007 when they were teenagers and they instantly developed a close relationship.
When Selena’s life was endangered in the midst of her battle with lupus, Francia unhesitatingly came to her rescue, giving up one of her kidneys.
France later revealed on Harry Connick Jr’s talk show that he had a brutal recovery, to the point that he “couldn’t do anything active” for two months other than “walk”.
A year after the transplant, Selena was seen partying with friends at the Four Seasons in New York and drinking alcohol.
Rumors spread that France was outraged by Selena’s ‘unhealthy choices’, resulting in an explosive confrontation between the two women.
Then, in October 2018, a month after Selena’s ex Justin Bieber married Hailey Baldwin, Selena reportedly suffered a lupus-related collapse.
She rushed into treatment for her mental health, after which she and Francia reportedly repaired their friendship.
However, tension flared again between them last year when Selena released an Apple TV+ documentary called My Mind And Me in which she spoke at length about her health issues but never once mentioned France.
Backdrop: Selena and France’s bond has had its ups and downs, including a fierce row last year after Selena named Taylor Swift her “only friend in the industry.”
To add insult to injury, he gave an interview to Rolling Stone where she said her “only real friend in the industry” was Taylor Swift.
Francia commented: ‘Interesting’ on Instagram and made her feelings clear by unfollowing Selena on the social media platform.
When a TikTok account posted a video about the fight between the old friends, Selena sarcastically commented, “Sorry I didn’t mention everyone I know.”
In a TikTok comment that went instantly viral last month, Selena notably referred to Taylor instead of France as her “best friend.”
