Selena Gomez left an eyebrow-raising comment under a photo of her boyfriend Taylor Swift, leading some fans to think she feels left out of their top team.
After coming across a photo of her longtime best friend, 34, alongside Blake Lively, Lana Del Rey, Ice Spice and Keleigh Teller, having a blast at the 2024 Super Bowl last weekend, the 31-year-old former Disney Channel star a sad emoji under a post shared by a fan account, with the username @swiftutation.
In response to the photo, the Rare Beauty founder dropped a slightly frowning emoji, with a single tear falling from one of his eyes and a red heart.
While it’s unclear why Gomez didn’t join the group when they cheered on Swift’s friend Travis Kelce when his team took on the San Francisco 49ers, she made her feelings of exclusion known to the world on Wednesday.

Considering that the two-time Grammy nominee and pop star have been close since first meeting in 2008, on a double date with Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas, Gomez was most likely invited but had a scheduling conflict or plans with Benny Blanco.
Still, a number of Selenators responded below her comments to express their sadness that she wasn’t in the photo next to Swift.
“We love you Selena, don’t be sad!” wrote one. “Maybe in the next Super Bowl.”
Another commented: ‘She’s sad because she’s not here. I feel you girl, lol, but they’re really her friends too.”
Others called Gomez’s choice of the crying emoji a “wild” and “arbitrary” choice.
Still, some found the comment relatable, admitting that they “wanted to be there too.”
This comes after the Only Murders in the Building actress reportedly turned down some of Swift’s “invites to a few Chiefs games” earlier this season.
The end of October, Page six reported that Gomez was worried that Swift and her new boyfriend were “going too fast.”

“Selena thinks Taylor going to games and gallivanting around New York immediately after meeting Travis is something very different from her,” the source claimed. “Historically, Taylor has always been very private about everything, and now that she’s in this relationship, she’s so open about it that it’s just really strange for Selena.”
However, the insider noted that the duo had “no beef” over Gomez’s opinions, and have been spotted together a number of times in recent months.
“It wasn’t malicious, and it’s not that she doesn’t like them together.” She’s just concerned about how it’s being navigated,” the source added.
Moreover, the singer is said to have tried to avoid becoming involved in Tayvis’s ‘media frenzy’.
In stark contrast to Page Six’s report, a source told Entertainment Tonight that Gomez loves the couple together and thinks they are the “real deal.”

“She’s very supportive of her and Travis,” the insider noted, before adding that she likes how “how respectful Travis is to Taylor and he treats her like a queen.”
The source continued, “So far, Travis has proven to be caring, honest and thoughtful. He is a good listener and communicator, takes her feelings into account, puts his family first and also respects her passion for what she does.”
Last month, Gomez and Swift made headlines after they were apparently caught gossiping at the Golden Globes.
In November, Gomez joined Swift for a girls’ night in New York City with Sophie Turner, Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne and Brittany Mahomes.
For Swift’s birthday on December 13, Gomez shared a heartfelt birthday tribute to her friend, calling the artist a “goddess.”
