Selena Gomez praised by fans for her wholesome reaction to co-star Zoe Saldana winning first Golden Globe
Zoe Saldana won her first-ever Golden Globe award on Sunday, with fans praising her fellow nominee and co-star Selena Gomez for her response.
Both Saldana, 46, and Gomez, 32, were both nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy or Musical for their roles in the Netflix hit Emilia Perez.
While many expected Wicked star Ariana Grande to take home the award, Saldana defeated Grande, Gomez plus Felicity Jones (the brutalist), Margaret Qualley (The Fabric) and Isabella Rossellini (Conclave) for the award.
Just before the winner was announced, Gomez was seen saying “Zoe Zoe Zoe” before her co-star’s name was announced, as she jumped up and hugged her mother before turning to Gomez and saying, “I love you!” ‘
She then walked up to Gomez and hugged before walking over to accept her award.
Fans quickly took to social media to praise Gomez’s response, especially since she herself was nominated for the same award.
