Selena Gomez blushes with Benny Blanco as host Nikki Glazer makes awkward joke about their romance
Selena Gomez found herself blushing after Golden Globes host Nikki Glazer made an awkward joke about their romance.
The 32-year-old singer and actress and the 36-year-old producer have been romantically linked since June 2023.
Gomez announced in December that they were engaged, although it is unclear when the couple plans to tie the knot.
The actress was at the Golden Globes for her dual nominations for Netflix’s Emilia Perez and Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building.
During her opening monologue, Glazer, 40, made a joke about the newly engaged couple.
‘Tonight, double nominated for Emelia Perez and Only Murders, and she’s here with her new fiancé, Benny Blanco. And Benny Blanco is here because of the genie who granted him that wish,” Glazer said as Gomez and Blanco both laughed awkwardly.

Blanco then gave her a kiss on her bare shoulder before Glazer added, “Man, lucky you,” as she made fun of the movie.
‘I love you. Selena, you are so good at Emilia Perez. I liked it so much. Emilia Perez, yes. Emilia Perez earned ten nominations for Netflix, and I loved it. I think it’s without a doubt the most daring, groundbreaking movie to ever autoplay after Is it Cake,” Glazer joked.
The awkward prank comes just a month after she experienced yet another strange prank.
She appeared on Late Show with Stephen Colbert in December to promote Emilia Perez when the host asked about her relationship.
She was asked about her Thanksgiving, when the host shared a photo of Blanco hugging her over the holiday, with Colbert saying, “He seems to like you a lot.”
Gomez responded, “Well, I hope so,” when Colbert surprised her by asking, “If you don’t mind me asking, where is this relationship going?”
Visibly stunned, the actress added, “Whoa,” as the audience laughed, as she admitted, “I thought you were going to ask where this photo was taken?”
She then replied, “You know what, I’m not sure, but I’m having a great time,” as Colbert asked if she thought he was watching right now.

Colbert then turned around, looked directly at the camera and said, “Benny,” as Gomez can be heard saying, “Oh no.”
The host added, “You must think you’re pretty special, if you think you can do better than this, okay,” as Selena burst out laughing.
Colbert added, “And as America’s father, I want to know what your intentions are with America’s daughter here?”
Gomez was quite surprised, saying, “Oh my God,” before awkwardly thanking Colbert before asking, “But is it a good relationship?”
“Oh yeah,” she said, before Colbert asked if he was a good cook and she said, “He has a cookbook, he cooks every meal. It’s fantastic.’
She also revealed that he cooked the entire Thanksgiving feast for as many as fifty people by himself, with Colbert joking, “What are your intentions for him?”
Gomez added, “I tried to be the hostess and then keep an eye on him and cheer him on” as he cooked the Thanksgiving feast.
