Seeing double! Kate the Princess of Wales and Princess Mary of Denmark are style sisters

As “common people” marrying an heir to the throne, parallels between the Princess of Wales and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark were inevitable.

Both have transitioned into their roles as royals and mothers with grace and ease and have garnered a huge following of fans in their respective countries.

The brunette beauties have also mirrored each other’s style and were dubbed the unofficial “royal sisters” by the late Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld.

Even on Monday, in the heat of the South Pacific, the Crown Princess chose an outfit reminiscent of one previously worn by the Kate, in this case a dress with a long belt that accentuates the waist with a wide floral design in rich shades of blue .

Princesses Kate and Mary were style sisters again on Monday when Mary (right) wore a rich floral design when she visited the South Pacific island of Vanuata. Kate was spotted wearing the same wide-pattern style dress in a similar vibrant blue during a visit to Sweden in January 2018.

Mary was pictured visiting Vanuata, which, like other Pacific islands, is being affected by climate change, with rising sea levels and an increase in severe weather.

Kate had worn the Erdem dress pictured while visiting Sweden in January 2018.

They were ‘sisters’ again earlier this year, when Kate visited Liverpool with Prince William in January. For the couple’s first official engagement following the release of Harry’s explosive memoir, Spare, she wore an elegant long Holland Cooper tartan-patterned coat.

The look was very reminiscent of a black plaid Baum und Pferdgarten coat worn by Princess Mary in 2019 while touring Texas, which was known at the time for its resemblance to tartan outfits previously worn by the Princess of Wales and Meghan Markle.

The princesses have even worn the same dress on their royal engagements, with Kate opting for the same blue-collared Beulah dress to meet NHS staff in 2020 that Mary wore to Indonesia in 2019.
