  • Couple also produces podcast together, made a book

Channel Nine football commentator Marlee Silva was left red-faced on live television at Shark Park last week, with her celebrity housemate Nicho Hynes to blame.

The rising TV star was doing an on-camera feature with Sharks playmaker and NRL legend Brad Fittler, and playfully revealed that Hynes can be a “strict” landlord and “often snoops around the house” when he’s injured.

Hynes bit his tongue before getting the last laugh, declaring, “I’ll tell you what, I hope you… [Fittler] Don’t sit next to her because she doesn’t shower, she really stinks.

“She also farts all the time.”

Hynes was clearly joking about Silva, who was not above good-natured banter just before kick-off against Cronulla and Newcastle last Sunday, saying: “That’s all the time we’ve got,” before turning her comment back to a colleague in the studio.

According to Ny Breaking Australia, the two live in Caringbah in Sydney’s south, but are not in a relationship.

They previously co-wrote a children’s book, titled Stand Proud, which is based on Hynes’ experiences discovering his Indigenous heritage.

Hynes bought the four-bedroom, three-bathroom home in June of last year for $2.17 million. The home also offers a separate living space for his troubled mother.

Hynes’ commitment to the Sharks was confirmed in April when he extended his contract until 2029.

β€œI never thought I would sign a long-term contract with the NRL, one that will hopefully benefit my life and that of my family,” Hynes said at the time.

β€œThe whole city, the whole community has welcomed me and I can’t imagine ever wearing a jersey again.”

Hynes and Silva caused a stir last November when they posed together on the red carpet in preparation for the ARIA Awards in Sydney.

With the NRL finals approaching, Hynes will be looking to return in late August as the Sharks attempt to secure a top four finish.

The playmaker broke his leg in training in July and is said to be making good progress in his recovery as his side chase the Premier League title.

Hynes won an NRL final with Melbourne in 2020, but did not play against Penrith.
