See double! Mexican fast food chain is a complete knock-off of California’s In-N-Out

A Mexican fast food restaurant has opened that is a complete knock-off of California’s beloved In-N-Out.

The burger restaurant in the state of Sinaloa, Mexico, has gone viral on social media for its resemblance to the iconic West Coast chain and its cheeky “In-I-Nout” name.

The mock restaurant boasts most of the In-N-Out features burger fans can find in the US, including red booths and trays, Americana-inspired decor, and a yellow arrow on the sign.

It also serves many of the same dishes in the original restaurant, including double-double burgers and fries topped with grilled onions and special sauce.

Viral social media videos of the restaurant, which is located on a highway outside the city of Culiacán, show the walls decorated with 1950s photos, including Coca Cola and old-school diner posters.

According to social media reports, the Mexican restaurant also serves double burgers with bacon, brioche buns and “aderezo de la casa,” or house dressing.

However, In-I-Nout also has some items on its menu not available at its American counterpart, including BBQ and Buffalo Chicken Wings.

It is not clear whether In-I-Nout is a temporary or permanent business and the restaurant did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com’s request for comment.

An In-N-Out spokesperson declined to comment “due to pending litigation,” suggesting the knockoff may be facing a legal dispute with the California-based chain.

In-N-Out was founded in 1948. For decades, the burger chain didn’t expand beyond Los Angeles County, and the first restaurant outside of California didn’t open until 2000.

Earlier this year, however, it was announced to much fanfare that the chain would open a headquarters in Tennessee by 2026, as well as multiple restaurants.

The move to the state is the easternmost expansion yet for the company, whose current easternmost state is Texas.

It’s a change of tone for In-N-Out, whose president once said they had no plans to expand further to the East Coast in her lifetime.

The company’s owner, Lynsi Snyder, said in a 2018 interview with Forbes that she believed putting restaurants in each state would take “some of its shine.”

“I don’t see us stretched out all over the US, I don’t see us in every state. Take Texas – draw a line up and just stay on the left. That’s in my lifetime,” Snyder said.

“With every decision I make, I always think about what my family would like. I have no doubt that my grandparents, father and uncle would be proud of this decision to expand our Associate family and serve even more great clients, starting in Nashville and the surrounding areas.”

In-N-Out currently has approximately 385 locations in California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Oregon, Colorado, and Texas.
