Shocking footage has emerged of a security guard pushing a woman and a young autistic boy to the ground outside a popular beachfront venue.

Patrons at Coogee Pavilion, in eastern Sydney, witnessed the shocking incident around 3:20pm on Easter Saturday, when the security guard saw the teen dragged out of the venue.

Bystanders rushed to get out of the way before the guard violently threw the boy to the ground.

A young woman accompanying the boy shouted repeatedly at the guard, saying the boy was only 13 years old.

Frustrated, she pushed the guard, who then pushed her back with such force that she fell to the ground.

“He’s autistic, he’s mentally retarded,” the woman said several times.

The police were called to the scene, but not by bystanders or any of the youths involved.

They were called by the site’s security team who reported “malicious damage and assault of a security guard.”

“On arrival, officers were told that a youth had forced the room, after which he would have smashed a glass door and had an argument with a guard,” said a police spokesman.

“Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, including obtaining statements from involved parties and seeking CCTV at the site and surrounding area.”

The security guard has reportedly been sent on leave while the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The venue has been contacted for comment.
