A security guard has died following an alleged attack at a hotel in Sutherland in Sydney’s south.
Emergency services were called to the Royal Hotel on East Parade at around 2am on Sunday after reports that a security guard had been attacked.
Officers found the man, believed to be in his thirties, unconscious outside the pub.
Police performed CPR before the man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, but he died at the scene.
The man has yet to be formally identified.

Police were told the security guard had been hit in the head by a patron after an altercation.
It is alleged the man was asked to leave the location before the assault.
A 31-year-old has been taken to Sutherland Police Station where he is ‘assisting police with inquiries’.
The hotel has been cordoned off and police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
