Secrets of Demi Moore’s TOTAL face swap: Hollywood legend is ‘aging backwards’ and British cosmetic doctor thinks he knows why
At 61, Hollywood legend Demi Moore looks like she’s ‘aging backwards’, and a British cosmetic doctor thinks he knows why.
Moore, who starred in the smash hit Ghost in 1990 and Charlie’s Angles in 2003, is now the face of a youth-obsessed character in the new sci-fi blockbuster, The Substance.
The film explores themes about societal pressure on women to follow unrealistic beauty standards – which she herself is no stranger to.
Yet the A-lister still looks as good as she did when she was 30, and London-based aesthetic doctor Dr Johnny Betteridge suggests a face and neck lift and eyelid surgery are among the reasons for this.
In a video posted to Instagram that has amassed more than 11,000 likes, JB Aesthetics founder Dr. Betteridge images of Moore from 2019 to September of this year to illustrate her transformation.
Looking at an image from 2019, he said there were “some characteristic signs of aging in the face and neck, with skin sagging and volume loss being the predominant features.”
But after comparing it to an image of her last September at the premiere of The Substance, he explains that her face now looks more “lofty.”
‘Notice how her face has changed from how we saw it a few years ago to now, a much more lifted and toned appearance. These features are likely attributed to a deep face and neck lift,” he said.

One video from September shows clear evidence of the surgical procedure, as the star can be seen with her hair behind her ear, revealing a surgical scar normally visible after a facelift.
“If you look closely, you can see the surgical scar placed discreetly in front of the ear,” Dr. Betteridge said.
In the video, he also attributes her youthful appearance and lack of wrinkles around her eyes to eyelid surgery – a surgical procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the upper or lower eyelids.
‘Her eye contour has a much smoother contour and her eyelids are also more visible. We can probably attribute these changes to upper and lower blepharoplasty,” he said.
Dr. Betteridge added: ‘This highlights how really good plastic surgery can be so effective not to change the way someone looks, but to refresh someone’s appearance overall.’
The actress is rumored to have undergone surgery worth £250,000, including breast implants and the straightening of her nose, according to widespread reports circulating in the early 2000s.
But she dismissed the reports as nothing more than speculation, insisting in 2007 that she had “never” had cosmetic surgery.
Dr. However, Betteridge isn’t the only surgeon who has suggested Moore undergo surgery.

Plastic surgeon Dr Mark Solomos, from Channel 4’s 10 Years Younger, told Hello! magazine that he believes she had surgery young and maintained her youthful appearance with minor surgery.
He praises her “incredible bone structure” and suggests she may have had a lip lift, a youth-promoting procedure that reduces the distance between the base of the nose and the upper lip.
This also smoothes out some of the creases between the nose and upper lip that appear as the face ages.
He also said it was possible she had had a face and neck lift or laser resurfacing surgery – a popular anti-aging treatment that works by destroying the first layer of skin, allowing fresh, youthful skin cells to grow underneath.
Her youthful appearance may also be due to anti-wrinkle injections such as Botox around her eyes, Dr. Solomos said, which relaxes the muscles in the face to smooth out lines and wrinkles.
He also suggested that she may also have had eyelid surgery, a cosmetic procedure that removes excess skin, fat and muscle from the eyelids to change their shape and eliminate any sagging.
Dr. However, Solomos added that Moore may have “exaggerated” her cheeks. He said they look ‘a bit too big’ for her proportions, with fillers or fat transfer used to give the fuller look.
