WHAT TO TRY: Women often neglect the upper body – try the dumbbell floor press to work your chest, upper back and triceps in one go.
Lie down with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor.
Hold a dumbbell (or bottle of water or can of beans) in each hand and extend your arms away from your body, as if you were reaching for each wall.
Bend your elbows so that the dumbbells rise, then extend your arms forward and up, pushing the dumbbells toward the sky.
Bend at the elbows to lower the weights until your triceps touch the floor.
Repeat ten times, for two sets, several times a week.
