A cast member of Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has defended a “disgusting” incident from the hit Hulu series.
In an episode of the show, Whitney Leavitt decided to reveal the news of her third pregnancy to her family by serving them a cake containing her used pregnancy test.
While the new approach certainly made for interesting television, many viewers were shocked by the 31-year-old’s decision to put the used “pee stick” in the dessert.
Tackling the backlash with The cutWhitney confirmed that her family did indeed eat the cake after the big reveal.
‘Oh, of course we did! We definitely all ate the cake,” she said.

In an episode of the show, Whitney decided to reveal the news of her third pregnancy to her family by serving them a cake containing her used pregnancy test.
‘Look, I put the lid back on. Cloroxed it all out before I put it in the cake. It was clean,” she insisted.
“I understand how people were like, ‘Ew.’ Maybe people tried to stay away and not eat the pieces around the test, but that cake was tasty. So yeah, we had our cake and eaten it.”
During the scene, Whitney’s younger sister Lexi was shocked to discover the test used in the cake.
“Oh my God, that’s disgusting. Why did you put that in the cake,” she screamed.
“I don’t think I really thought about it properly, thoroughly, clearly,” Whitney tells the producers, before adding, “But the lid is on!”
It comes after Whitney broke her silence over being painted as the villain in the hit Hulu series.
In a tell-all interview with The Knip podcast last week, the 31-year-old called out the show’s editing and accused one of her castmates of “sabotaging” her on camera.

‘Look, I put the lid back on. Cloroxed it all out before I put it in the cake. It was clean,” Whitney said later
She also said the fallout from the series’ airing had left her in a “very dark place” and made it “hard to look back.”
Despite mentioning some of the editing of the series, Whitney admitted that no one made her do anything.
“There were decisions I made on that show that no one asked me to make,” she said.
‘For example, I liked doing that, but there was no context behind why I had made certain decisions. But then again, that’s the game, I guess.”
