Mormon TikTok star breaks silence on swinging scandal that swept the internet
The Mormon mom who sent the internet into a frenzy when she revealed she and her husband were swingers has now shared racy new details about the affair.
Taylor Frankie Paul’s marriage ended in 2022 after she developed feelings for and began an affair with one of her swinging partners, who was also married to one of her friends.
At the time, Paul was rising as part of a group of “MomTok” influencers on TikTok. She and other glamorous Mormon moms often appeared in each other’s videos, creating dance moves and participating in viral trends together.
Now she’s set to appear in a new Hulu documentary, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, in which she tells all about the scandal that she says “broke the internet.”

“MomTok was involved, and then — I think the public thought everyone in MomTok was swingers,” she told Fox News. “People were dissecting.”
And speaking on the Viall files, Paul said there was never a specific conversation that led to the waving. Instead, it began during a night of drinking when her husband and another suggested that she and a woman “kiss… it’s hot.”
‘I did that when I was younger, I didn’t really care… we had another party and it was like, take your clothes off and we’re going to take lingerie photos together.
“It just escalated.”
Paul recalls that the two couples “had intercourse in the same bed… the girls kissed each other and the husbands touched the other women.”
At that time, only she, her husband and one other couple were present in the group, but over time a third couple joined them.
‘I don’t know how you know, but you can guess a little bit who’s participating.’
Paul said her then-husband was the first to pull the plug because he was concerned one of the women would get pregnant and not know who the father was.
“My husband was like, maybe we shouldn’t do this with our best friends anymore, but with strangers… I wasn’t for it.”

Despite the story—and retaliation from Latter-day Saints who claim there are “gross misrepresentations” of the faith—Paul continues to maintain that she has every right to still identify herself as Mormon.
“I go to church and my son is going to be blessed here soon. It’s really not up to anyone to tell me I can’t go to church because I’m sinning. It’s between the church and me,” she said.
Paul revealed in a 2022 livestream video that she and her then-husband, Tate, had agreed to have multiple partners as part of a “soft swinging” group with other married Mormon couples, naming some of the women who often appear in her videos.
Paul and her husband had agreed that they would ‘not go all the way’ with other partners, but she broke that agreement with one of the other spouses for whom she had developed feelings, which ultimately ended her marriage.
Several of these women insisted they had nothing to do with it and made public statements, while others remained silent and refused to comment at all.

The friendship between several women and Paul fell apart and one of the women, Miranda McWhorter, said she did not want to appear on the show anymore because she did not want to come into contact with Paul.
“Yes, we said we would consider it if she wasn’t on the show, and we did. We knew we weren’t going to find out anytime soon, and yet we made the decision, for our families and ourselves, because it didn’t feel like the right fit,” she said.
At the time, it was unclear whether Paul would be allowed to appear on the show, as she was charged with aggravated assault, domestic violence in the presence of a child and child abuse.
She accepted a plea deal for the aggravated assault and the other charges were dismissed.
McWhorter sent a text message between her, Camille Munday and their manager, asking, “My final thought on the Momtok show is we’re going to let it go, right?”
Munday immediately replied, “For me it is.”

McWhorter said she “wished she could have made a decision” after she knew whether or not Paul would appear on the show, but admitted that either way, it’s “probably not good for me.”
She added that it came as no surprise to anyone that she and Paul “weren’t a good fit for each other at the time the series started casting.”
She has since said that Paul’s decision to retell the details of the story was nothing more than an attempt to promote the show.
“Swinging fiasco? That’s tea. This is called PR,” she said.
Jessi Ngatikaura, who will appear on the show, admitted it was “difficult to navigate” being online following the scandal.
“Suddenly everyone starts accusing you because there are misunderstandings,” she said.
“There were a lot of people who didn’t want anything to do with Taylor or MomTok anymore.”
