An urgent search and rescue mission is underway to find a young woman who reportedly fell overboard from a cruise ship off the coast of South Australia.
Carnival Cruises alerted police shortly after midnight Wednesday after the woman fell from her P&O-branded Pacific Explorer cruise ship near the coastal city of Cape Jaffa, about 300 kilometers south of Adelaide.
Police said crew members learned the passenger was missing around 11:30 p.m.
The boat has remained in place while the search continues.

A statement issued by South Australia Police said: “An aerial search is currently underway around 70km offshore with the assistance of PolAir and Challenger aircraft from Essendon.”
“The cruise is also assisting with the search in the 5 meter seas and the local SES are on standby.”
The Pacific Explorer left Melbourne on Tuesday for a four-day return voyage from Melbourne to Kangaroo Island.
