Everton boss Sean Dyche admitted he had ‘a huge job to do’ at Everton after the Toffees suffered their fourth defeat in the first five games of the Premier League season.
Arsenal overcame their Goodison Park problems to secure a 1-0 win over Everton thanks to substitute Leandro Trossard’s second-half goal.
The Gunners were in poor form when they visited the blue half of Merseyside, and it looked like things were not going to go their way when Gabriel Martinelli had a goal disallowed after 19 minutes due to a controversial offside move.
Everton put in a tenacious performance against the Gunners, although it was not enough to find the back of the net at Goodison Park.
The defeat leaves Sean Dyche’s Everton in the relegation zone, with just one point from their first five Premier League games.

Although Dyche praised his side’s defensive efforts after the match, he said it was the ‘details’ that have cost his side a lot of money this season.
“We defended in numbers, did well in that side of the game, but with the ball we were miles away.
‘We put the players in the right place, the details took us all season. You have to stay focused, they have some top players.” He added.
‘The actions of the officials were comparable to the norm. You want consistency. They are right in front of our eyes and nothing happens.
‘They are a top team, we have huffed and puffed, but not created enough.
The Toffees boss acknowledged the squad’s lack of depth but assured it is something the club is working on.
For Sean Dyche, he had important options on Everton’s bench this time, including Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
‘We put the players in the right place, the details took us all season. You have to stay focused, they have some top players.” He added. ‘The performance of the officials was at a high level’
A luxury of nine men, most of whom were senior players, compared to the only four established outfield substitutes available against Sheffield United in their previous league match.
Sean Dyche’s side scored twice in the draw against Sheffield United just before the international break, but they are the only goals on the Everton ledger after five league games.
‘We ensure that players are fit, we are getting deeper into our team. The sound has been there for a few seasons. We are continuously working to correct this.
‘It’s a work in progress. There is a tremendous amount of work to be done and it will take time.”
Everton have now lost six of their last seven Premier League games at Goodison Park, losing their last three 1-0
