Sea of Thieves is coming to tabletops this summer
Sea of thievesRare Ltd.’s fun-filled, massively multi-pirate adventure for PC and Xbox is getting a tabletop game adaptation from Steamforged Games, the designers behind the upcoming tabletop version of Elder ring. Sea of Thieves: Journey of Legends is expected to hit shelves in the summer of 2023, Steamforged said Wednesday.
The game is billed as a “competitive seafaring adventure for 2-4 players,” according to a Steamforged press release. Players will upgrade their ships (from barge to galleon), hire a crew and sell cargo at the main outpost, and hunt for treasure as they compete for the title of Pirate Lord.
Other familiar features from the video game will be present on the tabletop, including the abandoned fortresses with their skeletal garrisons and epic beasts like the Kraken and the Megalodon that threaten their ships at sea.

Sea of Thieves: Journey of Legends retails for $59.95 (alternating £59.99 and €59.95 for international customers). The box contains over 150 playing cards, 10 standard dice and 24 standing pieces.
Steamforged recently released two new core sets for Dark souls: The board gameoriginally launched in 2017. The adaptation of Monster Hunter: World, first announced via Kickstarter in 2020, is expects to ship to donors soon.
