A teenager was found dead by his lifelong best friend, 500 meters from where they had planned to meet a few days after Christmas.
Billy McClelland, 16, crashed his motorcycle on the side of Daniels Road in Sea Lake in Victoria's Mallee region on his way to visit his friends late on December 28.
Ethan Ellis and another friend found his body near his crashed dirt bike and immediately called Billy's brother, Henry, and emergency services.
When paramedics arrived they performed CPR but were unable to save the teenager, who suffered serious head injuries and died immediately on impact.
a GoFundMe has been launched by Ethan's parents, Brianna and Mick, 'to show their love and support' for Billy, which has already doubled its original $10,000 goal.

The pair began searching for Billy after he failed to meet them at a hut on Daniels Road in Sea Lake in the Mallee region of Victoria.
The two teens had been waiting for their friend to show up at a cabin at the end of Daniels Road, but had gone looking for Billy after he didn't arrive.
“When Ethan found him, the first thing he did was call Henry and say, 'I found him, it's not right,'” Mrs Ellis said. told 7News.
'It's very difficult for two 16-year-old boys to find their friend. I don't think that's something the human brain should ever see.”
Billy was found near Ethan's house, which was only half a mile from the cabin and on the same road.
It's unclear what happened to the teen, but it's believed he fell off his dirt bike while on his way to meet his friends.
Billy's family were 'extremely close' to him, according to Brianna, who described him as 'adventurous' and 'larger than life' with a bright future heading into Year 11.
A community service will take place on January 12 and in the meantime Mrs Ellis has asked if those who can donate to help pay for the funeral.
“The McClelland family has a road ahead that is simply unfathomable and being able to ease their financial burden may help them just a little bit,” she wrote.
So far, more than $21,000 has been raised in two days to help Billy's family through the fundraiser.
Billy had fallen from his dirt bike 500 yards from the cabin, suffered serious head injuries and died as a result of the crash.
