Scotty McCreery abruptly stops show after seeing man hit woman in crowd: ‘Get the heck out of here!’

Country singer Scotty McCreery interrupted his performance to throw out a man who had allegedly punched a woman in the audience.
During his performance at the Colorado State Fair on Saturday, the 30-year-old singer abruptly stopped his performance to address the man he could see from the stage.
Videos posted online show McCreery addressing the “unacceptable” incident during a performance of his song It Matters To Her.
McCreery witnessed the alleged altercation from the stage and was clearly upset by it.
The singer and father of one was only seconds into his performance when he stopped the music and shouted, “Hey, hey, hey! Here, here, that’s a lady you just hit, sir.”

“Absolutely not, you just hit that lady. Police? Security? Is she okay? Get the hell out of here.”
“On God’s green earth. On a Scotty McCreery show? What are you doing?” he continued.
“You let the officer know who hit the lady. That is absolutely unacceptable,” he added.
“Whoever you are, that’s the definition of a coward, hitting a lady. Fuck off,” he said to applause.
“The world said we had to get back to the show,” he concluded once the disruption was over.
Officials with the Colorado State Fair confirmed that an incident occurred during McCreery’s performance.
Representatives of the exchange would not name the man or reveal whether he was ultimately arrested.
“We can confirm that an incident occurred at the Scotty McCreery concert where a man assaulted a woman and the performer stopped the show,” Olga Robak, director of communications for the Colorado Department of Agriculture, told Today in the US.
The singer was only seconds into his performance when he stopped the music and shouted, “Hey, hey, hey! Here, here, that’s a lady you just hit, sir.”

Robak explained that Colorado State Fair security was partly responsible for keeping the crowd under control.
“This incident is still under investigation and we cannot comment further,” Robak added.
McCreery rose to fame after winning season 10 of American Idol in 2011.
The country singer has been married to Gabi since 2018, and in 2022 they welcomed their first child together, a son named Merrick ‘Avery’ McCreery.
