Scottie Scheffler’s caddie takes home ANOTHER $360,000 after American’s latest PGA Tour win… meaning he’s now earned more than Rory McIlroy this season with $1.8m in the bank

Scottie Scheffler’s caddy Ted Scott has earned another $360,000 after the American won $3.6 million at the RBC Heritage on Monday.

The world number 1 recorded his fourth victory in five starts on Monday morning after the match was postponed in South Carolina on Sunday due to bad weather.

Scheffler took home $3.6 million for finishing in first place, adding to the $3.5 million he collected after winning The Masters last week.

And if Scheffler pays Scott the customary 10 percent of the winnings, their latest win netted the caddy another huge windfall.

It means Scott’s earnings for this season alone are just over $1.8 million. For context, Rory McIlroy has made $1.7 million this season.

Scott has been carrying Scheffler’s bag since 2022 and has been central to the American’s explosive rise to become the dominant force in golf.

The 27-year-old has won both the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Players Championship this season, two major tournaments in addition to his Masters victory.

The caddy will also have earned significant sums in recent seasons with Scheffler, who has topped the PGA Tour prize money list for the past two years.

He earned a record $14 million (£11.2 million) in the 2021-2022 season – a figure he has already surpassed this year – before earning $21 million (£16.8 million) during the 2022-2023 tour .

Because Scheffler had collected $50 million over the past few seasons, Scott alone would have taken home an estimated $5 million in prize money.

Scott is a 25-year veteran of the PGA Tour and previously caddyed for former Masters champion Bubba Watson.

He reportedly took some convincing initially before agreeing to caddy for Scheffler.

“Teddy and Scottie talked for a while before they started working for him,” fellow caddy and friend Paul Tesori said via Golf overview.

“Scottie is young and has had a habit of getting a little angry on the golf course, and maybe even a little angry with his caddy.

“Ted is a veteran, almost 50 years old, and has been here long enough that he could say, ‘I want to come work for you, but you have to promise me that you’re going to work in these areas. .” And Scottie not only said yes, he absolutely did it.”
