Scottie Scheffler snaps! World No 1 throws his putter and cries ‘screw these greens’ after missing easy putt – a week on from his shock PGA Championship arrest

Scottie Scheffler was left in disbelief when a birdie putt failed to break toward the hole during the Charles Schwab Challenge, played at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.

With a putt of about 10 feet left for birdie, Scheffler watched as his putt failed to break toward the hole and rolled about two feet.

Scheffler turned his putter over in disbelief and looked up at the sky before saying, “Fuck these greens man. Gosh, how does he do that?’

The world’s No. 1 golfer would ultimately tap his next putt for par and not further damage his score.

He would later look more like himself on his first nine holes, after playing the back nine first.

Scheffler would birdie the 13th hole and the 18th hole to move to even par for the tournament.

It comes a week after his dramatic and shocking early morning arrest during the PGA Championship in Louisville, Kentucky.

After being booked for allegedly dragging an officer who clung to his vehicle, Scheffler was charged with misdemeanor second-degree assault on a police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving and failure to obey signals of an officer directing traffic arranged.

The misdemeanor charge could land Scheffler in prison for up to 10 years.

There was speculation that the charges against the Masters champion would be dropped – or even reduced.

Instead, however, officials vowed to “respect the legal process” and “let it play out.”

The detective who arrested Scheffler, Bryan Gillis, was placed on “corrective action” for failing to activate his bodycam to capture the situation.

“Detective Gillis should have turned on his body-worn camera, but did not,” Louisville Police Chief Jacquelyn Gwinn-Villaroel said at a news conference Thursday.

Detective Gillis is under further scrutiny with allegations that he once drove a “drunk citizen” into his “police vehicle” and made “doughnuts” in a business parking lot.

During yesterday’s first round, Scheffler had difficulty with the course; he opened with two birdies and two bogeys on the front nine.

A triple bogey came on the 13th hole when his shot landed over a pond into the water and then his putt for double bogey rolled a foot past the hole.

He ended the day with a birdie on 17, leaving his score two over for the round.

After his arrest last week, Scheffler finished the PGA Championship in a tie for eighth place after shooting 13 under for the tournament.
