Scottie Scheffler in line for another $8MILLION payday – without hitting a shot – as golf star takes 2024 earnings to $36MILLION

Scottie Scheffler could be looking at another $8 million as his remarkable 2024 season reaches even greater heights.

The world No. 1 will win the Comcast Business Tour Top 10, an award given to the highest-ranked golfers at the end of the FedExCup regular season.

Scheffler currently tops the leaderboard, ahead of Xander Schauffele. The winner will take home $8 million, double last year’s $4 million grand prize, which was won by Jon Rahm.

The American recently added Olympic gold to his list of achievements and the bonus will take Scheffler’s earnings for the 2024 season to $36,148,691.

Scheffler’s bankroll will continue to grow, with the FedEx St. Jude Championship and BMW Championship still to come, both offering a $20m top prize.

Next up is the Tour Championship, which offers the $25 million FedEx Cup prize from a total $100 million bonus pool.

The Player Impact Program rewards players who make the biggest commercial impact on the PGA Tour, through ticket and sponsorship opportunities. In 2023, Rory McIlroy will win the $15 million top prize.

Scheffler has enjoyed a remarkable dominance over his rivals in recent months, with the world No. 1 having won six and 14 top-10 finishes in just 16 PGA Tour events this season.

In April he won The Masters during an incredible run of four wins – and one runner-up finish – in five tournaments.

Scheffler continued his strong season with victory at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris earlier this month. He has earned almost twice as much as Schauffele, who is second on the PGA Tour money list with $15,867,160.
