Scottie Scheffler could make $60M in 2024 earnings… with world No 1 on track to pocket more than any NFL, MLB or NBA star

Scottie Scheffler has outpaced all his PGA Tour rivals this season and the world No. 1 could surpass even the highest earners in baseball, basketball and football.

Scheffler has already won six times on the PGA Tour in 2024, including at The Masters and last week’s Travelers Championship.

That’s earned the 28-year-old $27,696,858 in the past six months alone – more than double Xander Schauffele – the next highest earner ($12,636,360).

Shohei Ohtani signed the richest contract in team sports history when he joined the Dodgers on a 10-year contract worth $700 million.

That should have earned him $70 million a year, but the two-time star has reportedly deferred nearly $2 million of that annual income.

His teammate, pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, is thought to take home the most of any MLB player this season ($55,000,000).

Meanwhile, the highest earner in the NBA for 2024-25 is Stephen Curry. The Golden State Warriors star will take home $55,761,216.

That’s $7 million less than Joe Burrow, who makes the highest average annual salary in the NFL. The Bengals quarterback has an annual turnover of $62.9 million.

Scheffler’s incredible 2024 has hit a number of bumps, including at the PGA Championship – where he was sensationally arrested – and at the US Open, where he narrowly missed the finish.

But the American has nevertheless enjoyed a period of dominance not seen since the heyday of Tiger Woods. Scheffler has won six of his past ten tournaments.

That extraordinary run includes the Travelers, Memorial, RBC Heritage, the Players Championship, the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Masters.

The final major of 2024 is still to come, with the Open Championship taking place at Royal Troon next month. Last year’s winner, Brian Harman, earned $3 million for winning the Claret Jug.

He already has a nearly insurmountable lead in the Comcast Business Tour Top 10 leaderboard, which pays $8 million to the winner. Scheffler will also be the favorite to win the FedExCup ($25 million).

Other earning opportunities await at FedEx St Jude, BMW Championship and through the The PGA Tour Player Impact Program. This year’s winner, it is said, will take home $10 million.
