Scottie Pippen and ex-wife Larsa’s son, Justin Pippen, took the next step toward a career in the NBA by committing to play college hoops for the University of Michigan.
Justin plays guard for Sierra Canyon School in California and is teammates with LeBron James’ youngest son, Bryce.
On Friday, Justin announced his commitment to the Wolverines on social media. He also spoke to On3’s Joe Tipton about his decision. According to Tipton, Michigan came about after offers from California, Stanford, Florida and Texas A&M.
“I chose Michigan because my long-term goal is to make it to the NBA,” Pippen said. “Michigan is great for my development and playing on such a big stage in that conference is great for me.”
Pippen joins the first recruiting class with the Wolverines’ new head coach, Dusty May, at the helm.

While Scottie remained quiet despite most of the noise, news of Larsa and Marcus’ divorce became public on February 12.
According to the 2024 On3 Industry Rankings, Justin is ranked 93rd among high school students in the United States.
His brother, Scottie Pippen Jr., made two All-SEC teams at Vanderbilt and is in his second year with the Memphis Grizzlies.
