The Block host Scott Cam has called for the show’s rules to be revised next year after several teams went over budget this season.
Scott, 59, said the Blockheads’ spending significantly exceeded budget this year, and safeguards must be in place to prevent this from happening again.
It comes after the veteran tradition often clashed with Sharon Johal and Ankur Dogra over their ridiculous spending, leading to him freezing their finances.

“Teams just keep on spending. I think we may have to change the rules next year,” he said on The Block’s official podcast.
‘I’m going to have a meeting about this. I’ve already discussed it with a few people. We are going to make some changes,” he added.
Scott said it’s essential for prospective contestants to learn basic building skills before signing up for the Channel Nine renovation show.

He said, “They can learn how to hang sheets. Then when your plasterer comes in, you can learn from him and apply the primer.’
Earlier this month, Sharon and Ankur lashed out at Scott’s decision to freeze their spending.
He made the decision to avoid blowing their budget after previously trying to solve the problem by having them pay their expenses through a financial advisor.

Ankur and Scott got into an argument when the frustrated host told the couple they were already $53,000 over budget.
‘You’re an accountant. I can’t understand this,” said the fed up presenter.
Ankur said this comment about his career in finance jeopardized his future earnings and asked for an apology.
