Scooter Braun trolls enemy Taylor Swift over star-studded Rhode Island party: ‘How was I not invited to this?!?’

Scooter Braun took a swipe at her arch nemesis Taylor Swift with a pointed dig at her star-studded party in Rhode Island over the weekend.

The now-retired music manager, 43, who has been embroiled in a years-long feud with Swift, 34, took to Instagram to say he watched the Max documentary about their split, Taylor Swift vs Scooter Braun: Bad Blood.

He lashed out at her mansion party, where he was joined by friends including Blake Lively and Channing Tatum to support her, sharing a post about the party with the caption, “How come I wasn’t invited to this?”

This was followed by the hashtag ‘Laugh a Little’.

As DailyMail.com reported, Taylor and Travis Kelce hosted their closest friends and their children at the singer’s mansion over the weekend to celebrate actress and best friend Taylor Lively’s 37th birthday.

Braun came under fire from Swift after the music mogul purchased her master recordings from Big Machine Records CEO Scott Borchetta in 2019.

In a June 2019 Tumblr post, Swift expressed her disappointment over the high-profile transaction.

“My musical legacy is now essentially in the hands of someone who wanted to destroy it,” Swift said.

“For years I asked and begged for a chance to own my work. Instead, I was given the opportunity to re-sign with Big Machine Records and “earn” back one album at a time, one for each new album I turned in.”

Nearly a year and a half later, Braun sold the master recordings for more than $300 million.

Swift has said she plans to re-record her first six albums. She has already released the albums Fearless (Taylor’s Version), Red (Taylor’s Version), Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), and 1989 (Taylor’s Version).

In June, Braun released a statement announcing the end of his “chapter” as a music executive and assuming his new role as a Hybe board member and CEO of Hybe America.

His statement began like this: ’23 years ago a 19 year old kid started managing an artist named Cato in Atlanta, GA and my journey began. Along the way I have had so many experiences that I never could have imagined.

‘I have been fortunate enough to have lived a “Forrest Gump” type life, witnessing and participating in the journeys of some of the most extraordinarily talented people the world has ever seen. I constantly pinch myself and ask myself “how did I get here?” And after 23 years, this chapter as a music manager has come to an end.’

News of Scooter’s retirement comes after he lost clients including Ariana Grande, Carly Rae Jepsen and Demi Lovato.

Scooter, who has three children with his ex-wife Yael Cohen, cited his children as the main reason for his decision to leave the business.

“My entire adult life I’ve played the role of 24/7 artist manager. And for 20 years I loved it. It was all I knew. But as my kids got older and my personal life took a hit, I realized that my kids were 3 superstars that I didn’t want to lose. The sacrifices I was once willing to make were no longer justifiable. It was time to take on a new role.”

Braun then discussed his next career move: last year he became CEO of Hybe America. Variety reported last year that Braun would become the company’s sole CEO.

“In this next chapter, I have had the honor of joining Hybe as a board member and serving as CEO of Hybe America. My brilliant partner of the past 3 years, Chairman Bang, has a vision that I truly believe in. But even beyond that, he has become a true friend who understands where I need to be in my life these days. And that is a father first, a CEO second, and no longer an executive.”

He reflected on his incredible career that has seen him collaborate with some of the biggest names in music, including Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande.

“Justin and Ariana were both young teenagers when I started working with them,” he wrote. “Watching them both grow into the legends they are today will forever be one of my greatest honors. As we transform our working relationship, I will continue to support them with the same passion I did each of their humble beginnings.

“I remember the jokes and the water park shows with Justin, and the first time Ari opened an arena tour and her electrifying sidestage performance. I remember both of them advocating for others and being able to witness both of them changing the world and making history. There will never be a day that I am not proud and honored of what we accomplished together. The same can be said for so many I have had the pleasure of calling a ‘manager.'”

Braun also referenced controversies he faced during his time as a music manager in his statement, but did not name them specifically.

‘A lot has been said about what happens in our company… and in my career. When we were successful, I smiled, and when we were attacked, I always tried to take the high road.

‘But over the last 3 years I have come to feel that taking the high road has created confusion and ambiguity about who we are. I may have left my management role and my business relationship with many clients will change and evolve, but this does not mean that we as a company are leaving.

“Both Allison Kaye and Jennifer McDaniels are more than capable of leading, and as we combine new resources, the possibilities with their leadership are endless. These two incredibly powerful women are now stepping into roles that I know will grow into the most impressive female-led management company our industry has ever seen. While my name may have been on the door all these years, the truth is that there is no one as brilliant as Allison Kaye, and few who can manage with the grace and poise of Jen McDaniels.”

He continued, “We at Hybe will continue to grow. With the addition of QC to Hybe America and our existing business at Big Machine, we will continue to add great executives and artists to the roster. Our WeVerse platform and growing gaming unit is something the entire industry can get behind. Having the opportunity to A&R and executive produce Jung Kook’s solo career this past summer, and working with the other members of BTS as we break global records, was an absolute honor.

“With new acts like NewJeans, TXT, LE SSERAFIM, Seventeen, ILLIT, The Scarlet Opera, Ava Max and many more new artists and ventures, the future looks bright. I am honored to work with Chairman Bang and Jiwon Park to grow HYBE from the multi-billion dollar company it is today to the global, multi-faceted entertainment platform it is destined to become. With HYBE going strong, I also look forward to continuing to invest in a new generation of entrepreneurs and serving as a national board member of Make A Wish and helping individuals and communities through our family’s Braun Foundation. Between all this and coaching my children, I don’t have to worry about being busy :).”

‘So yes, it’s been 23 years. And yes, this chapter has ended. But the great Berry Gordy once said to me, “Young man, it never ends the way you want it to, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.” That wisdom has proven true. I never saw how this chapter would end, hell, I never even saw it happen. But it did. And I’ll cherish every moment of it. I made my plan… but it turns out I like God’s plan better. Cheers!’

The announcement comes after Braun parted ways with Grande in December 2023 after more than a decade.

Grande has signed a new management deal with Brandon Creed of Good World Management, but will continue to work with Braun’s entertainment platform HYBE.

Braun is still Justin Bieber’s manager.

Bieber, one of Scooter’s biggest artists, also reportedly left him in August, but spokespeople for the Sorry singer denied he left Braun last year, noting that he had signed a new four-year contract in 2022, though an ongoing contract did not prevent Ariana from moving on.
