School principal makes shock announcement about teacher: ‘This is sick’

An Oregon high school principal has made a shocking announcement about one of the teachers.

Scott Gragg, principal of McNary High School in Keizer, recently shared a post from Diesel Technology teacher Tristan Thiel, who announced that she had changed her identity last summer and asked the public to accept her new identity.

“I am confident that our McNary family will do a tremendous job supporting her on this journey,” Gragg wrote in the message to parents and students, obtained by the popular Libs of TikTok X account.

‘Thank you in advance for your care and support of Tristan.’

He then shared the email Thiel sent to her own students, in which she says she is “happy to announce… that I have decided to transition my gender identity from male to female.”

Tristan Thiel, a Diesel Technology teacher at McNary High School, announced her transition last summer and asked the public to accept her new identity

She asked parents or guardians who had concerns to send them to the school administration.

“With this letter I want to let the students, their parents and guardians know that I have decided to go back to school and identify myself as the woman (she, her, teacher) that I truly am,” Thiel wrote in the letter shared on social media.

She noted that “transition is a very personal journey for everyone and I ask for your understanding and respect during this time of change.

“To students, I want you to know that I am still the same teacher who is committed to your growth, learning and well-being. My passion for education and my dedication to helping you succeed remain the same,” Thiel said.

“I am here to support you and ensure you feel safe and valued in our classroom.”

She then thanked the parents and guardians for their “continued support of their child’s education.”

“I understand you may have questions or concerns. Please feel free to direct them to the McNary Admin team and we will do our best to resolve them.”

Thiel also emphasized that it is not my intention to impose my views or personal ideas on others, but to share my passion for diesel technology with my students here at McNary.

“Your understanding and support mean the world to me and I will continue to work with the school district to ensure a smooth transition for everyone.”

But many X users were shocked by Thiel’s announcement and the director’s support.

“Only in Oregon,” one mother wrote.

“This is sick,” she continued. “There is no way someone that age doesn’t have serious mental health issues and fetish issues and shouldn’t be FAR from children.”

Podcaster Gideon 6ix also claimed that “there is nothing ‘authentic’ about what this person does. It’s sad.”

“It’s ridiculous that this person is trying to force others to pretend.”

William Ward also wrote on Facebook that Thiel ‘holds hostage the ability of children to learn a trade, subject to the condition that they be forced’ [to] Accept your mental instability or you will be suspended/expelled from school.

‘You probably know a child who doesn’t accept it [will] “They would be threatened with some form of punishment if they misnamed or deadnamed a mentally ill person,” he claimed.

Many at X were shocked by Thiel’s announcement and the director’s support

Others suggested that Thiel’s transition is typical of Oregon’s school system.

“I pulled my kid out of Oregon public schools,” wrote one X user. “Highly recommend. They’re weird.”

Another claimed that Oregon’s public school system is a lost cause.

The Oregon Department of Education is [run] by a bunch of radical progressives,” she wrote, suggesting that parents instead “homeschool their children or find a good private school.”
