A female high school mentor who sent a teenage student 3,000 messages in just two months “will never apologize,” her fiancé said.
In a series of “overtly sexual” texts, 24-year-old Ellen Cadman-Smith told the 15-year-old that he had “driven her crazy” and that she was “thinking about him non-stop.”
The mother of one child also told the boy ‘I think I’m falling for you’ and ‘I want you so bad,’ Isle of Wight Crown Court heard earlier this month.
In excerpts of messages read to a jury, the Sandown, Isle of Wight school officer admitted to being “half-naked” and said, “I can’t have you and you know why,” before agreeing to put him in her meet car. .
Cadman-Smith’s behavior only came to light when the victim’s mother found messages from someone named ‘E’ on his phone and alerted the police who tracked her down.
A jury found that Cadman-Smith engaged in sexual communication with a child and Judge Susan Evans KC placed her on a five-year sexual harm prevention order.
However, when asked by The Sun reporters today if she wanted to express remorse for her actions, she remained silent and left before her fiancé declared, “There will never be an apology.”

Isle of Wight Crown Court heard that at the time of the crime Cadman-Smith was a mentor at Cowes Enterprise College, responsible for supporting pupils with ‘behaviour, mental health and learning difficulties’.
The mentor was accused of engaging in sexual communication with a child.
But the 24-year-old, who suffers from “extreme anxiety,” was deemed “not mentally fit enough” to enter a plea or stand trial.
Instead, a rare “trial” was held in her absence asking the jury to decide whether or not she had committed “the act.”
After only three minutes of deliberation, a jury decided it did.
The court heard that she and her victim developed a bond after she began supporting him. They started meeting in her car, but hid their “relationship” when they were in school.
Mary Aspinall-Miles, prosecuting, said she had worked at the school since 2017 and was a “progress mentor.”
‘[The boy] began accessing its services. They covered up their behavior at school… they thought they were in a relationship.
She told the boy that she had “feelings” for him, but she “couldn’t have him.”
The jury heard that the mentor had texted the boy from her personal mobile and that the pair initially shared “emotional and supportive messages.”

But “within an hour and a half,” Cadman-Smith began telling the boy that she had “thought of him non-stop,” the court was told.
In excerpts from messages read to the jury, the mentor told the teen, “I can’t have you and you know why,” and later suggested that the pair could go on “drives” together.
As their “relationship” progressed, Cadman-Smith told the boy, “OMG, I’m falling for you and thinking about things I probably shouldn’t be doing.” [winking face emoji.]’
“I want you so much… the things I could do to you right now are driving me crazy,” other texts said.
Cadman-Smith – who had a boyfriend at the time of many of the posts – told the schoolboy she was “keeping everything for him,” the court was told.
The jury heard that 15-year-old Cadman-Smith would regularly ‘meet in her’ car and that she would get him ‘Burger King’ or ‘drinks’.
After Cadman-Smith walked into one of the boy’s classes at school, she texted him to discuss the encounter saying “When you gave me that look,” and ended the message with three “drip” emojis.
When the mentor ended her relationship with her boyfriend, she texted the boy to tell him and suggested she “get away for a night at a hotel in Kent,” the jury heard.

She told the boy in another post that because she was taking “tablets for cysts on her ovaries,” “the only safe place to do it would be in the shower.”
In a separate text message sent to the boy, she wrote, “I don’t know what else I did [last night] but today I have a little sore throat,’ the jury heard.
In further messages, Cadman-Smith told the boy she was “half-naked while texting him,” and that he was “definitely a bum,” the court was told.
No evidence was presented in defense at the hearing.
The jury found Cadman-Smith to have engaged in sexual communication with a child and Judge Susan Evans KC placed her on a five-year sexual harm prevention order.
Under the terms of the order, she must make all of her devices available for inspection, all must have the ability to save search history, and she has been told not to delete her search history.
She is also not allowed to use social media to contact any child under the age of 16, other than her close relatives.
Cadman-Smith – who has a one-year-old child – will also be placed on the sex offender register for five years and will also be barred from working with children.
She was also ordered to hand over her mobile phone, which will be destroyed.
The mentor was dismissed by the judge, who said: ‘It is clear that there has been sexual activity between them. She had a position of responsibility… [It was] a breach of trust.
She clearly knew it was wrong to do what she was doing. It was a big mistake.’
