Scary moment Packers star Romeo Doubs leaves NFL playoff game after brutally smacking his head on the turf

This is the worrying moment Green Bay Packers star Romeo Doubs struggled to get to his feet after hitting his head on the turf.

The wide receiver was helped off the field during the third quarter of the Packers’ Wild Card game against the Philadelphia Eagles with a suspected concussion.

Doubs was trying to haul in a potential touchdown pass when he was pinned down by Eagles defenders Quinyon Mitchell and Avonte Maddox.

The mid-air collision sent all three players crashing to the ground, but Doubs hit his head particularly hard. Despite wearing a Guardian Cap, the wideout’s head visibly bounced off the turf.

After hitting the back of his head on the ground, Doubs immediately sparked fear when he did not immediately get up and instead lay down on the turf in pain.

His concerned teammates gathered around him in the end zone as the Packers medical staff rushed to care for him.

The Green Bay star was eventually helped off the field and taken to the locker room

Doubs was eventually helped off the field by two trainers who dragged him through the tunnel as the team announced he would be evaluated for a concussion.

The receiver missed two games earlier this season due to a concussion and has worn a Guardian Cap, a softshell helmet cover, since his return to action.

His departure came as a blow to the Packers, who trailed the Eagles, as Green Bay had already started the game thin in the wide receiver corps, with Christian Watson being ruled out after suffering a torn ACL in last year’s regular season finale week against the Chicago Bears.

On the Packers’ next possession after Doubs’ injury, fellow starting receiver Jayden Reed left the field with an apparent injury to his right arm after taking a hard hit to his shoulder.

Reed also needed help off the field and was seen clutching his right arm in pain as he slumped to the locker room, leaving the Packers without three starting wide receivers.

Left guard Elgton Jenkins was ruled out with a stinger during the playoff showdown and defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt was cleared to return after a leg injury.

A few plays after Doubs’ injury, a defensive pass interference penalty on Eagles cornerback Mitchell gave the Packers a first down at the nine-yard line. However, the visitors had to settle for a field goal after two errors by Jordan Love.
