The 7th Jurassic film is directed by Gareth Edwards and written by David Koepp.
While promoting her new film Fly Me To the Moon, Johansson confirmed her casting for Comicbook.com.
“I’m a huge Jurassic Park fan. It’s one of the first movies I remember seeing in the theater. I remember seeing it so vividly,” she said of the original 1993 Jurassic Park.
“It was like it changed my life. It was overwhelming. I can’t express how excited I am,” Johansson recalled.
The project brings back original Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp, who filmed Michael Crichton’s 1990 novel of the same name.
“The script is so incredible. David Koepp wrote it. He came back after 30 years to write the script. He’s so passionate about it, it’s really amazing.”
“I’m such a huge fan of the franchise and a huge nerd. I’m just like, I can’t even do it, I’m pinching myself,” Johansson added.
She also admitted, “I’ve been trying to get into this franchise for over 10 years by any means possible.”
