The co-star’s new film, in theaters July 12, is a romantic comedy that sees NASA film a fake moon landing as a contingency plan in case the Apollo 11 mission runs into trouble.

Tatum plays a NASA official overseeing the Apollo 11 moon landing, while Johansson takes on the role of a marketing executive hired to film the fake moon landing.

Their characters clash and flirt as they carry out this unconventional emergency plan.

“It’s not hard to fall in love with him, I would say,” Scarlet said during an appearance on Today on Monday.

“He’s just very charismatic. … He’s just [an] ‘absolutely a nice guy.’

Scarlett described Tatum as “easygoing” and “professional” and said they quickly bonded on set.

“It was nice to just be like, ‘Okay, so what’s your story? Where do we come from?'” she explained. “And I think it was just easy chemistry, and again, he’s easy to watch.”

Of their characters’ storyline, she said, “We meet in a fun way, but we don’t realize that we actually function as each other’s opposites.

“It’s not hard to fall in love with him, I would say,” Scarlet shared during an appearance on Monday’s Today; “He’s just very charismatic. … He’s just [an] ‘absolutely a sweet guy’

“And so there’s a lot of friction there. And he’s very rule-abiding, he’s got a lot of integrity. He’s kind of a control freak, and I’m just not something he can control.”

Scarlet also admitted that she and Channing had appeared in two other films, but that they had never shared dialogue.

‘He and Anne Hathaway had a small part in Don Jon, where they were doing a romantic comedy, and we also worked together — well, I wouldn’t say together — but we were both in Hail, Caesar! and this was the first time we really got to have a dialogue with each other.’

Directed by Greg Berlanti, Fly Me to the Moon features a cast including Woody Harrelson, Ray Romano and Jim Rash.

Scarlet said today that the film was inspired by real-world theories and controversies surrounding the moon landing.

“I have a production company here in New York called These Pictures, and one of our employees, our head of film, Keenan, was playing with the idea of… what if this conspiracy theory was true? Could you build a genre film around it?” she explained.

In the same interview, the actress spoke candidly about Colin’s upcoming job as a reporter for the Tahiti Olympics.

Colin, 42, will report on the surfing competition at the Paris Olympics as part of NBC’s Olympic coverage.

Scarlet said the SNL star, an avid surfer herself, was thrilled for the opportunity.

“When they announced the Paris Olympics, he immediately found out they were going to have the surfing competition in Tahiti, which is so cool. He loves surfing, we have a place in Montauk, he’s always there to surf,” she told Savannah Guthrie.

“And somehow the dream came true. Now he’s going to Tahiti for two weeks and I’m thinking, ‘Poor child,'” she added, pulling a fake tear down her cheek.
