Scarlett Johansson giggles when questioned about first husband Ryan Reynolds
Scarlett Johansson was taken on a trip down memory lane when questioned about her first husband Ryan Reynolds when she spoke to Gwyneth Paltrow on her Goop podcast this week.
The 38-year-old Black Widow star couldn’t contain her giggles when Gwyneth, 50, said she had completely forgotten about the star’s marriage to the Deadpool hunk – who is now married to Blake Lively.
Ryan and Scarlett, 46, were married for two years after they tied the knot in 2008 and divorced in 2011.
‘Have you been married twice? Three times?’ Gwyneth asked Scarlett, who confirmed it was the latter.
Gwyneth then gushed excitedly, “Oh that’s right! I forgot you were married to Ryan Reynolds! Goals!’

Giggling in the background, Scarlett replied, “Yeah! We hadn’t been married that long…’ as Gwyneth agreed, ‘It still counts!’
“We like a good Ryan Reynolds in our house,” Gwyneth continued, as Scarlett’s famous husky voice continued to laugh, and she rounded off the subject by saying, “He’s a good guy!”
She then spoke about her current husband, actor Colin Jost, and gave insight into what makes it work.
“I didn’t know what I wanted or needed from anyone else,” Scarlett said.
“I never realized, ‘Oh, it’s really important to me — I need to be with a compassionate person.’
“That’s a fundamental characteristic that has to be there,” she revealed of her relationship.
Third Husband: Scarlett also talked about her marriage to actor Colin Jost, giving insight into what makes it work
On the podcast, Johansson added, “I think it’s a must to understand what those fundamental things are that you need in a partner, at least for longevity.”
Referring Loosley to her past relationships, the beauty said, “I think identifying those things was a game-changer for me.”
Scarlett and her husband Colin, 40, tied the knot in October 2020.
The longtime entertainer was previously married twice – to Ryan from 2008-2011, and later to Romain Dauriac from 2014-2017.
When Gwyneth asked, “Have you been married twice?” Scarlett corrected, “Three times.”
The lifestyle guru cheekily added, “Oh that’s right because I forgot you were married to Ryan Reynolds!” Goals!’
Scarlett reflected on the marriage as she affirmed, “Yeah. We weren’t married that long, but we were when I first met you before Iron Man [2] or whatever.’
Gwyneth added, “We like a good Ryan Reynolds in our house,” to which Scarlett replied, “He’s a good guy.”
Opening: The 38-year-old Marriage Story star appeared on Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop podcast this week, where she dished out her relationship
The New York City native is a mother of two — daughter Rose, 8, with Dauriac, and son Cosmo, 20 months, with Jost.
She said that with her current husband she was “finally able to step back and respect myself enough to know what those are [fundamental] things were and will be fine, you know? That was a life lesson.’
The two Hollywood luminaries also touched on their professional lives during the chat.
Scarlett opened up about the company when she admitted, “[There’s] always that fear, I think, as an actor, where you think, “Oh, I’m not going to work after this.”‘
Paltrow agreed when she replied, “Isn’t everyone feeling that every time? It’s like you never know what’s coming!’
And speaking of social media, the Lucy star said of Instagram, “I just feel like it’s not me fundamentally.
“I have to protect myself,” she explained. “I’m too sensitive.”
Johansson doubled down on the comments she made about the app earlier this month during the Skinny Confidential podcast.

She commented at the time, “I’m honestly too vulnerable a person to have social media.
My ego is too fragile. I can’t deal with it. My brain is too fragile. I am like a delicate flower. I’m scared enough.’
Scarlett described the experience of using the photo sharing platform for three days.
“When I started to realize I spent 20 minutes looking at someone’s Instagram page who worked for a friend of mine — I now know you have a pit bull, two daughters and live in Burbank — I was like, I just 17 minutes of time wasted.
“I now feel like I need to move to California, get this particular dog, and change my life in all these ways,” she recalls.
“I felt so bad, like I was missing out on this random person’s life. I can’t do this. i am too vulnerable; I’m so worried about other things.’
