Scarborough Beach drowning: Male swimmer dies at popular Perth beach

A man has tragically drowned at a popular beach in front of shocked beachgoers after desperate attempts by surf lifesavers and paramedics to save him.

Emergency services were called to Scarborough Beach in Perth’s northwest about 8.20am on Sunday after a 46-year-old man was pulled unconscious from the water.

Surf lifesavers performed CPR in an attempt to revive the swimmer as they waited for paramedics to arrive.

A spokeswoman for St John WA confirmed to Daily Mail Australia that four crew members from St John WA were at the scene.

Unfortunately, the man died on the spot.

The 46-year-old’s death is not believed to be suspicious.

The police will prepare a report for the coroner.
