Analyst Michael Irvin has been reinstated by NFL Network for the 2023 season following allegations of unwanted sexual advances during the Super Bowl earlier this year.

The NFL legend was in Arizona to work the Super Bowl but was relieved of his broadcasting duties before the game after a female employee at the Renaissance Phoenix Hotel & Spa accused him of harassing her.

Irvin has reportedly settled his $100 million defamation lawsuit with the Marriott hotel chain, with the latter initially reluctant to share internal surveillance footage of the incident. Irvin initially compared the situation to a modern-day lynching during a news conference.

Marriott filed a motion in response to the lawsuit and fought back with its own version of events from the Feb. 5 meeting.

The motion alleged that the 57-year-old’s characterization of the incident was inaccurate and accused Irvin of making unwanted sexual advances, asking the employee “if she knew anything about having a ‘big black man in (her)’ .’

But Irvin was back on NFL Network Sunday morning ahead of opening weekend action. Last month he was part of Skip Bayless’ new “dream team” on Undisputed.

This is not the first time the 57-year-old has faced allegations of sexual misconduct. Irvin was accused of sexual assault after a 2007 incident at a Hollywood hotel. Four years later, a settlement was reportedly reached in the civil lawsuit.

Then in 2017, a 27-year-old woman accused Irvin of drugging and sexually assaulting her at the W Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. But he was not charged with anything.

Following these latest allegations, Irvin told a news conference, “This takes me back to a time when a white woman accused a black man of something and they had a bunch of guys who were above the law run into the barn, put a rope around his foot and drag him through the mud and hang him on the tree.”

Marriott alleged that Irvin “appeared visibly intoxicated” and approached the accuser, shook her hand, said she was attractive and asked her if she watched football.

Irvin and his attorneys shared security footage of his Feb. 5 conversation with the woman

‘Irvin also reached out during this conversation and touched the victim’s arm without her consent, causing her to step back and feel visibly uncomfortable. Irvin then asked the victim if she knew anything about having a ‘large black man in (her),'” the lawsuit said.

Irvin and his attorneys shared security footage of his Feb. 5 conversation with the woman, which they said refuted the sexual harassment allegations.

Earlier this summer, Stephen A. Smith wondered why the NFL and television legend was still banned from the airwaves.

“I’ve been to about six birthday parties and we still haven’t seen any evidence that incriminates Michael Irvin,” Smith said.

“I’ve been waiting for months and I’m still waiting,” he continued. “I don’t know what Michael Irvin said to that woman. I do not know what happened. “All I’m going by is the evidence presented to us.”
