Save 30% on this immaculate Lego Atari 2600 replica

Lego didn’t have to go all out when they created this 2,532-piece Atari 2600 set in honor of the gaming company’s 50th anniversary, but we’re glad they did. And now, this Lego Atari 2600 tribute for sale at Best Buy for $167.99 (was $239.99), which is one of the lowest prices we’ve seen since the set’s introduction last year.

It would have been great enough to recreate the console itself, with its intricate wood and plastic panels, switchboard, and joystick. But Lego went one step further for this set, throwing in three diorama scenes in homage to the classic games Adventure, AsteroidsAnd Centipede — each of which is also displayed as a replica cartridge. There’s also a “hidden” diorama within the console itself that channels a 1980s living room. The attention to detail here is phenomenal and makes for a great display.

The only thing missing is a Lego CRT screen, which is actually do exist, albeit as part of the Lego NES set (unfortunately not for sale at the moment). And if you are looking for a working Atari, may we introduce the following: Atari 2600+ or upcoming Atari 7800+both of which are HDMI-ready and can play existing cartridges.
