  • The host of NBC’s Today show disappeared in the middle of a broadcast.
  • On Saturday he looked in good spirits as he walked out in public in New York.

NBC host Savannah Guthrie was seen on the streets of New York City smiling and waving on Saturday, just four days after testing positive for covid.

Guthrie, 51, was photographed in Manhattan and appeared to be in good spirits despite recently testing positive for the virus, suddenly disappearing from the set of the Today show.

Although he appeared on the air for the first 30 minutes of Tuesday’s show, viewers were left confused when he suddenly disappeared after a commercial break.

His co-host, Sheinelle Jones, who was by his side for the half hour he was on set, said later that he “didn’t feel very well” so he took a test which came back positive.

Savannah left early, she wasn’t feeling too well, so she got a Covid test. It came back positive,’ Jones told viewers.

‘As soon as we found out, he ran home to rest. So Savannah, we love you and wish you a speedy recovery.”

In May of last year, Guthrie revealed that he had tested positive for covid for the second time.

The Today co-host, who is vaccinated and boosted, shares a photo of her positive test on Instagram. She also posted photos of herself wearing an N95 mask and her air purifier on the highest setting.

‘So this happened, again! Covid+, air filter in “turbo” and it will be an isolating Mother’s Day for this mom!!!’ she wrote. ‘I feel fine, just a little cold so far. Grateful to have been vaccinated!’

Guthrie was photographed in public with her daughter and appeared to be in good spirits despite recently testing positive for Covid.

Guthrie first tested positive in January 2022 during the omicron surge, less than a week after co-host Hoda Kotb said she had the virus.

His disappearance last week came amid Kotb’s latest weeklong absence from the morning show.

On Wednesday, NBC’s Craig Melvin told viewers: “Many of you have been wondering how [Hoda] is doing. We can tell you that Hoda is fine, she has a family health issue that she has been dealing with.

Craig, who Jones and Al Roker joined in the study, did not share any other information about the “family health issue,” nor did the Today presenters reveal which members of Hoda’s family have been affected.

Conservative pundit Megyn Kelly used Guthrie’s caution about Covid and her mysterious departure as an opportunity to mock her during her own show.

“All of this is a perfect indication of how the left, and especially the left in New York, continues to live,” he said during his SiriusXM Podcasts.

‘I mean, at this point, really? Is anyone still testing for Covid?

Her co-host, Sheinelle Jones, who was sitting near Guthrie, later explained that she “wasn’t feeling very well” so she decided to get tested for Covid-19, which came back positive.

“This is reportedly Savannah’s third outbreak of Covid, and I guarantee you she’s had all the shots and boosters because you won’t be able to go to 30 Rock without them,” Kelly said.

‘It’s unbelievable to me. These guys are leftists and it amazes me to see how leftists are still living under the grip of Covid,” she added.

Explaining what happened to Guthrie, Kelly noticed beloved meteorologist Al Roker slowly walking off camera in what appeared to be an attempt at social distancing.

‘I got dollars for donuts that [Al] Roker is there with an N95 tomorrow all day on set,” he said.
