Savannah Guthrie slammed over ‘disappointing’ Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade outfit
Savannah Guthrie has been criticized by fans for her ‘disappointing’ Thanksgiving Day Parade outfit.
The 52-year-old host of the NBC Today Show has been reporting live on the beautiful floats that sail through New York City on Turkey Day since 2012.
While viewers are usually mesmerized by the dazzling floats during Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, today all eyes were on Savannah’s all-black ensemble.
The journalist wore leather trousers and a padded black jacket.
She protected her blonde locks from the rain with what appeared to be a Burberry bucket hat and completed the low-key ensemble with a pair of black gloves.
Her cozy appearance sparked a backlash as viewers flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to criticize it.
Social media users wondered who the blonde beauty was bringing out in the disappointing performance as they reflected on her past Thanksgiving outfits.
One person said: ‘Who thought it was a good idea to put leather pants on Guthrie?’

Another user added, “Some need to tell Savannah Guthrie not to wear leather pants. They look terrible on her. I love Hoda!!!’
Someone else commented: ‘Savannah never disappoints. I don’t know what’s worse: her hat today or the bows at the Olympics.
“She needs a new assistant to dress her.”
Hoda Kotb — who recently shocked fans when she announced she was leaving the Today Show — co-hosted the parade with Savannah.
The 60-year-old look was in stark contrast to Savannah’s, as she wore a long white coat, a white hat and a pair of white gloves.
Savannah later changed her look, ditching the brown hat and black jacket and opting for a statement silver coat.
This year’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has drawn fewer in-person viewers than usual due to pouring rain and frigid temperatures.
A century after the first Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the annual holiday tradition kicked off again today in New York City with a star-studded lineup of performances from Jennifer Hudson and Idina Menzel, among others.
This year’s parade features 17 giant helium-filled character balloons, 22 floats, 15 new and historic inflatables, 11 marching bands, 700 clowns, 10 performance groups, award-winning singers and actors, and the WNBA champion New York Liberty.

The parade will air on NBC with hosts Savannah, Hoda and Al Roker and stream on the network’s Peacock service
However, according to the National Weather Service, the annual holiday tradition began at 8:30 a.m. ET as a low-pressure system moved through the area, bringing wind, rain and plunging temperatures.
Fox again predicts up to an inch of rain with temperatures in the 40s and winds around 10 miles per hour.

Al was seen interviewing miserable parade goers who sat in cold bleachers trying to stay dry.
