Savannah Chrisley says she ‘knew’ Colton Underwood was gay when they first met in 2017… four years before he came out

Before coming out in 2021, Savannah Chrisley insists she “knew” Colton Underwood was gay when they first met in 2017.

The duo laughed at their lack of romantic chemistry when they attended the ACM Awards together while speaking on Savannah’s podcast, Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley.

Underwood, who rose to fame with The Bachelor franchise, came out in 2021, a year after splitting from his last rose pick Cassie Randolph.

“When we first met I knew you were gay. Like, I knew it!’ she admitted.

“It was ACM Awards, I forget what year, but it was after Luke Kennard and I broke up, and I was like, ‘Okay, damn it.’ You know how it is, you’re going through a breakup,” Savannah told Colton, who added that he was also “coming out of a breakup” at the time.

‘I knew you were gay’: Savannah Chrisley insists she ‘knew’ Colton Underwood was gay when they first met in 2017

“There was no connection there,” Savannah said.

‘No! I mean for obvious reasons,” Colton replied. “If I say ‘it’s not you, it’s me’, like I really mean it and I’ve clearly proven it on this point. Yes, it was still a fun weekend! We still had so much fun.’

Savannah recalled expressing her suspicions to her friend Emily, who cut her off.

“I remember looking at Emily and thinking, ‘He’s totally gay,” Savannah recalls. “She was like, ‘No, he’s not Savannah!'”

Savannah then confessed that he met another man later that night.

And later that night I left and went back to my room. And I was like, “I’m really not feeling well, I’m going back to my room.” And you gamble,” she recalled.

Savannah said she ended up going to another hotel to hang out with friends and “another guy.”

“Not offended at all!” said Colton after learning what really happened that night. “I would have done the same if I were in your place.”
