Savannah Chrisley says jailed father Todd gave her advice on raising her brother, 16, and niece, 10
Savannah Chrisley said her father, Todd Chrisley, has given her parenting advice during her time in prison.
Savannah, 25, opened Tuesday at the Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley podcast about the difficulties she has had adjusting raising her brother Grayson, 16, and niece Chloe, 10, after their parents Todd, 53, and Julie, 50, began serving their sentences in a federal prison earlier this month.
“It’s been hard, it’s been hard to understand, to process and also to help two children process what’s been going on in our lives,” said Savannah, who described the past week as the hardest of her life amid the changes of life.

Savannah said Grayson had a breakdown and that she had personally “felt defeated” as she prepared to take Chloe to visit relatives in prison.
“I don’t feel right enough for this job,” Savannah said, adding that she finds “the strength to get over it and do it.

She referenced her mother Julie, saying, “I’m not my mother, which I wish I was, because she’s the kindest, most loving, most amazing human being I’ve ever met.”

Savannah said Grayson, pictured in a recent Instagram post, had a breakdown amid the dramatic changes in her life.

In the letter Todd sent, according to Savannah, he told her, ‘I want you to give yourself a little grace. Fall in love with the real Sabana, the one I raised that radiates a room with her kindness and compassion. Not the one the world wants to see
He continued in the letter: ‘Remember, to gain the world and lose your soul, then what do you have? I have never been more proud of you and the woman you are becoming. You have been thrown into the fire and what God burns will allow you to shine brighter than gold.’
In the letter Todd sent, according to Savannah, he told her, “I want you to give yourself a little grace.”
Savannah said she doesn’t “feel quite right for this job” but finds “the strength to get over it and do it.”
She referenced her mother Julie, saying, “I’m not my mother, which I wish I was, because she’s the kindest, most loving, most amazing human being I’ve ever met.”
The Chrisley Knows Best couple were sentenced to federal prison on November 22 in connection with their bank fraud and tax evasion convictions.
Todd was sentenced to 12 years in custody, while Julie was sentenced to seven years in custody, both with 16 months of probation.
They began their respective sentences on January 17, with Todd serving time at Camp Pensacola Federal Prison, with Julie at a facility in Lexington, Kentucky.
