- Young model found dead in cafe
- Her father opened up in recent weeks
A young model found dead in a bathroom at a popular brewery had received death threats weeks earlier.
Savana Calvo, 27, died at 11.30pm on Wednesday after a night of drinks at Young Henrys on Wilson Street in Newtown, in Sydney’s west.
NSW Police are not treating her death as suspicious. There is no misconduct by Young Henrys.
Her father Daniel told her Daily Telegraph his daughter had received multiple threats from several people and that she was also being harassed.
“As her father, I knew full well that she was being harassed and stalked and I tried to intervene,” Calvo said.
‘Although we were very close, daughters only tell their parents so much.
‘More is coming out, she was involved with some dodgy young boys, owed money, and in the run up to last week she received several death threats.
“It’s just an incredible disaster, a nightmare, we’re slowly working our way through it.”

The police will investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.
Mr Calvo revealed that his daughter was involved in a serious car accident in 2022.
As a result, she suffered serious back injuries.
Mr Calvo said he did not think his daughter was ‘suicidal’ because ‘she always said she wouldn’t do it for me’.
“It’s crushing, devastating, and we’re very, very grateful for the outpouring of support that we’ve had,” he said.
‘Her mother and I were at the police in Darlinghurst on Thursday morning to establish what happened and I know a full investigation will take place.’
Adam St John-Foti, a family friend of Ms Calvo, previously told Daily Mail Australia she had been through “difficult times” in the months leading up to her death.
Mrs. Calvo is remembered as a “cherished daughter, sister and friend who brought so much love and light into all of our lives.”
“She will be deeply missed by all who knew her,” Mr. St. John-Foti wrote.
“We also appreciate your thoughts, prayers and expressions of support during this difficult time.
“Your kindness means the world to Savana’s family as we navigate our grief.”

“You were always smiling and you were a kind, gentle soul, and you will be so missed, beautiful lady, fly high, beautiful angel,” she wrote.
“I haven’t stopped thinking about you since I heard of your passing…I will miss you, Savvy.”
Another user said her death was “so tragic and a huge loss.”
A popular Newtown bar, The Coopers Hotel, similarly took to social media to mourn its loss.
“It is with heavy hearts that Newtown mourns the loss of a beloved member of the community,” reads a post on the hotel’s Facebook page.
