Saudi defender Yasser Al-Shahrani underwent emergency surgery on Tuesday after his horror collision during the 2-1 win over Argentina.
Al-Shahrani fell to the ground after colliding with goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais in stoppage time and was carried off the pitch on a stretcher.
According to reports in Qatar, he had a broken jaw, broken facial bones and internal bleeding.

“Yasser Al-Shahrani underwent successful pancreas surgery at the National Guard Hospital in Riyadh,” the Saudi Federation said on social media.
Al Shahrani later sent a message to reassure his fans about his health.
Al-Shahrani posted a video clip that aired on the Saudi national team’s page on Twitter saying, “I wanted to assure you that my health is good, your prayers are for me and the Saudi national team fans deserve it.” to win.’
He is not expected to play at the World Cup again.
Al-Shahrani, 30, was knocked unconscious after impacting Alowais’ knee as he challenged for the ball.

The collision happened five minutes after eight of extra stoppage time when a long ball was played into the Saudi Arabian penalty area.

Al-Shahrani initially stood up before being carried off the pitch and looked in pain, although he did give a thumbs up as he was carried off towards the end of their stunning victory over Argentina
It was a heavy landing and the Saudi defender was unable to continue.
Saudi Arabia clung to the lead they had stunningly claimed in the second half.
