A Newcastle woman has admitted mistaking her $1 million Lotto win on Saturday for just $1,000.
The woman was the winner of Saturday’s Division 1 five-prize draw, with each Division 1 winner winning $1,012,896.39.
“I thought it was only $1,000 at first – I didn’t look at all the commas,” she said. “I had to call my sister because I just couldn’t read it right.
‘I probably only got two hours of sleep. I keep thinking I have to pinch myself.
“My first priority is to pay off the house and then move on – no matter what the financial advisor tells me. I want to have savings for the future.”
The winning numbers were 31, 30, 23, 29, 17 and 25, while the additional numbers were 6 and 14.
The woman’s winning entry was purchased through the Lott app.
