‘I didn’t even know I was at his funeral. That moment was such a reality check that the alcohol started to take over here,” he added.

“So that’s when I knew I had to cut back on alcohol from then on.”

Not only did he candidly discuss his personal struggles, but he also paid tribute to his unwavering pillar of strength, his wife Emilie.

He celebrated nearly twenty years of marital bliss and acknowledged her relentless support during the most turbulent periods of his life.

Pulling back the curtain on his personal life, Ant described a moving moment from 2022 while tackling the world’s second highest mountain, K2.

During the treacherous climb, an encounter with a fellow climber led to an overwhelming outpouring of emotions.

‘I was probably halfway there and it’s so steep… She looked at me and said, “It’s beautiful up there, and you’re almost there.” She looked at my stomach and read their (his family) names perfectly. She said, “They’re going to be extremely proud of you when you’re on that top,” Middleton recalled.

“She didn’t have to stop and say that, but I was an emotional wreck. I dropped to my knees for a moment and started to cry… That was the last time I shed a tear.’
