The remaining SAS Australia recruits then became extremely vulnerable were tasked with writing down their most shameful secrets and reading them to the rest of the group during Tuesday night’s episode of the show.
Former diver Matthew Mitcham, 35, admitted lying in his marriage to husband Luke Rutherford, admitting the problem could be compulsive.
‘I have caused so much pain and serious damage to the relationship. I hurt the people most important to me because honesty is not one of my core values. And I’m a liar,” Mitcham said.
“I struggle to tell the truth when it’s hard,” he added.
Mitcham was later taken to SAS Australia chief instructor Ant Middleton for questioning about his dishonesty, where he made a shocking confession about his sexual behavior outside his marriage.

Middleton asked Mitcham about the last lie he told, and he admitted that he lies to his husband about having sex with other partners, even though the couple “knows about it.”
“Are you afraid you might be a compulsive liar?” Middleton asked.
“Maybe, yes, it would be very embarrassing if I admitted that,” Matthew replied.
Mitcham and his husband Rutherford married in 2020 at the Château de Halloy, a castle in Ciney, Belgium.
Earlier this year, Mitcham launched an account on a subscription-based adult website. Rutherford is already a top performer on the platform.
While Rutherford performs hardcore massage-themed porn with various men on the site, Mitcham’s own content is less explicit.

In January this year, Mitcham celebrated seven years of sobriety after his addiction to crystal meth and alcohol almost ended his career.
He announced the milestone on Instagram, saying he was “the happiest and healthiest I’ve ever been.”
“Today I have been clean and sober for SEVEN YEARS,” Mitcham wrote.
“It’s been seven years since I put anything stronger than a Panadol in my body, and I’m hands down the happiest and healthiest I’ve ever been.”
He continued, “Not everyone needs sobriety, but I did because I had to rely on external things to solve internal problems. And while I still have internal problems, I now have internal solutions.
‘I hope everyone has had (or continues to have) a lovely festive season, and if you wake up one day and think ‘enough is enough’, as I did seven years ago, know that there is plenty of help available if you ask for it.’
Mitcham was later taken to SAS Australia chief instructor Ant Middleton for questioning about his dishonesty, where he made a shocking confession about his sexual behavior outside his marriage.
Mitcham has previously spoken about his battle with alcohol and meth as he struggled with the ‘post-Games comedown’ following the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
After his triumph in Beijing, he became dependent on the drug ice when he discovered that despite his Olympic success he was not ranked No. 1 in the world.
Incredibly, the diver felt like a failure and soon found himself training and competing while juggling a crippling drug addiction.
“Knowing that I would be drug tested at every match, I would be detoxing (from drugs) for the weeks before I took part in the match and I would have to go through horrible withdrawals,” he told the BBC.
‘They were so bad that I promised myself with every cell in my body that I would not use them again, but I could never keep the promise.
‘It has become dark. My self-esteem was shattered, at times suicide seemed like the easiest way to deal with it, but I ended up going to rehab.”
Mitchell’s husband, a porn star, is also sober after his battle with substance abuse.
SAS Australia colleague Craig McLachlan (pictured) spoke about his experience of being charged with indecent assault while working on the 2014 production of The Rocky Horror Show, of which he was acquitted in 2020.
Meanwhile, SAS Australia recruit Craig McLachlan spoke during Tuesday night’s emotional confessions about his experience of being accused of indecent assault while working on the 2014 production of The Rocky Horror Show, of which he was acquitted in 2020.
“I was publicly shamed for bullying, harassing, intimidating and even assaulting colleagues,” he said.
“Without realizing it,” McLachlan continued, “I’ve hated everything and hated everything.”

The night’s shocking admissions followed Zima Anderson’s (pictured) dramatic withdrawal from training after an accident
After becoming angry with her father when she was young, she said she physically abused him.
“I pushed him back into a lounge… No punches were thrown, but the disrespect I had shown and the amount of anger I had carried really hit me when I had the clear mind to think about it. I am still affected by my actions to this day,” Murphy said.
The evening’s shocking admissions followed Zima Anderson’s dramatic withdrawal from training after an accident.
After trying to dive into the water with her equipment, Zima fell, injuring her elbow, and had to be taken away.
After this, a terrifying water exercise left AFL commentator Abby Holmes in tears.
Later, the recruits performed a high-pressure tactical driving task to evade enemy attackers.
