Influencer Sarah’s Day divides the internet as she shares glimpse at her five-year-old son’s ‘healthy’ lunch

Sarah’s Day has divided the internet by sharing a glimpse of her five-year-old son’s lunchbox.

The Australian influencer, 31, whose real name is Sarah Stevenson, took to Instagram on Friday to show her followers what she feeds her son Fox Ocean for his daily lunch.

She shared a video of herself packing a range of ‘healthy’ snacks for him to take to preschool, including curry eggs, cucumber and carrots.

The lunch also consisted of a portion of low-sugar, high-protein blueberry yogurt, pumpkin seeds, a five-seed cracker, avocado and fresh fruit.

“This is all he eats one day in kindergarten, the only change next week is no Babybel cheese,” she said in a voiceover, explaining that Fox no longer likes Babybels.

However, the lunchbox left her 1.2 million followers divided as they took to the comments section to share their candid views on the healthy snack offering.

Some followers commented on the ‘minimal’ amount of carbs in the lunch, while others said their children are not allowed to bring eggs due to allergies.

They wrote: ‘Tell me how you make them eat cold eggs!!!’; ‘We cannot take eggs to our daycare centers or schools due to allergies’;

‘Why not the egg salad in a sandwich, it has no carbs lol’; ‘Delicious. Just wondering why there are so few carbs for a growing boy?”

However, other fans shared their support for the lunchbox, praising her for being able to get her five-year-old son to eat such a variety of healthy foods.

Fellow influencer Indy Clinton said: “If I served the Navy this he would throw mine in the trash and steal the other kids lunches so great foxy eats like this!!”

While other fans added: ‘I’d love to see more of this!’; ‘I love this! Which curry powder do you use? I’m trying to find a good one!’

‘What a great lunch box. How to get your toddler to eat veggies, my 4 year old is completely off veggies (only likes pumpkin)! Any tips would be very helpful,” someone else said.

In an accompanying caption, Sarah shared how she always ‘acknowledges and respects’ her son Fox’s food preferences and emphasized that he ‘enjoys’ healthy eating.

In an accompanying caption, Sarah shared how she always ‘acknowledges and respects’ her son Fox’s food preferences and insisted he ‘enjoy’ eating healthy food.

“I’ve shared a lot of our food journey as a family and how I’ve encouraged my kids to not just eat, but to actually ENJOY healthy foods. This all started from the day I introduced solids through baby-led weaning.

‘I recognize and respect my son’s different taste preferences, the foods they don’t like and the cuisines they gravitate towards, and I have always had an open conversation about what healthy foods do for our bodies and why we are so blessed that we eat such nutritious food!

‘Check out my cookbook (link in bio) for over 130 of my healthy recipes, including many of my childhood favorites!’

In addition to her eldest child Fox, Sarah also shares a son, two-year-old Malakai Koa, with her husband Kurt Tilse.

The couple are also preparing to welcome their third child together in October, after Sarah announced her pregnancy in early May.

Elsewhere, the millionaire influencer recently came under fire from working mothers for comments she made about being a primary school teacher.

The lifestyle vlogger took to Instagram last week to thank her fans for all their support, which has allowed her to “be what I always wanted: a stay-at-home mom.”

She said that without her platform, she “would probably have been an elementary school teacher and had to put my kids in daycare,” sparking backlash among working moms who brutally condemned Sarah on Reddit.

The YouTube star said in her lengthy post: “Since having two kids, I’ve gotten so much better at balancing life and work, saying no to opportunities and giving myself time to just enjoy motherhood.”

She went on to “humbly brag” about being able to build her family “with businesses, passive income streams and systems to help them achieve work-life balance.”

‘I just want to thank you for supporting me, my channel and my projects. Without you, I probably would have been a teacher and had to take my kids to daycare as soon as my maternity leave was over,” she added.

Sarah concluded her message to fans by saying she was so ‘lucky’ to be able to pursue her dream of being a ‘stay at home mum’.

Some of the millionaire influencer’s followers took offense to the post and shared it on Reddit, where they brutally sprayed Sarah for her nonsensical comments.

They wrote: ‘Does this make me even angrier?’; ‘This. That’s what bothers me about this message. Demonizing placing children in childcare’.

‘The way she makes being a primary school teacher with children in childcare sound like some kind of failure! Ugh,” someone else said.

“Well thank goodness HER kids don’t have to go to daycare unlike the rest of us farmers,” another added.

Despite the outpouring of online hate, the Outspoken podcast pointed out that the influencer’s intent was likely not to be “offensive to teachers.”

Presenters Amy, Sophie and Kate Taeuber said they believed Sarah was “putting her own experience at the center” of her message without realizing how it could be perceived.

“To give some background, in her early days at YouTube, she started out as an elementary school teacher and eventually left college to pursue her career as an influencer,” they said.

“So for her it would have been a step back to be a teacher and not follow her dream. She tried to concentrate on it, but I don’t think she was aware of how it came across to people who were teachers.”

Sarah pursued a full-time career as an influencer in early 2010 and has since found fame as a lifestyle and fitness vlogger.

Daily Mail Australia contacted Sarah for comment at the time.
