Sarah Vine says the Sussexes should be stripped of their titles to stop them ‘shamelessly’ monetising the Royal Family on YouTube talk show The Reaction
Prince Harry and Meghan should be stripped of their titles to stop them blatantly profiting from the royal family, according to The Mail’s talk show The Reaction.
In the latest episode, out today, Mail columnists Sarah Vine and Andrew Pierce turned their gaze to Harry and Meghan’s new website ‘Sussex.com’ to ask whether the couple are trading away their royal titles and breaching their agreement with the late queen. .
Without the royal family, Vine said, Harry would simply be a “slightly fat, balding ex-soldier,” while Meghan would be a “fairly attractive, not very successful ex-actress.”
After sources close to the former working Royals tried to quell any fuss over the website’s naming, Ms Vine added: ‘What really annoyed me was that ‘their people’ responded to criticism… by saying that Their surname is Sussex.’
Mr. Pierce interjected: “It is, in my opinion, a shameless way to cash in on them by reminding the world that they are royal.”

Ms Vine concluded that the Sussexes should ‘strip their titles to finally put an end to this nonsense’ as ‘their currency is their association with the Royal Family’.
Mr. Pierce agreed, saying he believes that to save the royal family from further embarrassment, “the Firm” should not “stop stripping them of their titles” and also prevent their children from becoming Prince and use Princess.
Joining the Sussexes, the pair share their insights and views on the biggest topics of the day – however controversial, discussing why it’s considered ‘cool’ to be anti-Israel, and their hatred of Valentine’s Day.
They are united in their condemnation of the ugly scenes when a ‘trumpeting’ pro-Palestinian mob gathered outside the home of Tory MP Tobias Ellwood this week.
“I think there’s a very fine line between legitimate protest and intimidation, and I think those people crossed that line,” Ms. Vine said.
Mr. Pierce asked, “What is it about Palestine that incites the crowds and makes them turn with such vehemence and ferocity against Israel and anyone who supports the State of Israel?”
To which his YouTube talk show co-host responded, “It is, in a word, anti-Semitism.”
She added: “There is an element of it just being fashionable to support Palestine. It kind of reminds me of when I was younger and everyone thought Che Guevara was a really cool guy.
‘It’s the path of least resistance. If you say, ‘I support Palestine,’ people will say ‘yes,’ because it makes them feel cool and makes them feel like they’re on the right side.”

Ms Vine revealed that she ‘hates Valentine’s Day’ because she believes a better way to show someone you love them is to take out the bins, unload the dishwasher or not mention when your partner what has arrived.
She added: ‘This kind of horrible thing where you go to Marks & Spencer or Tesco and get a Valentine’s meal with a bunch of overpriced, over-processed roses is just tasteless and horrible.’
