Sarah Jayne Dunn admits she doesn’t wear knickers – even while doing a food shop – as she hits back at trolls who claim it is ‘gross’ to go commando

Sarah Jayne Dunn has confessed that she loves not wearing panties and will even go to Tesco commando because it feels ‘liberating’.

The former Hollyoaks star, 42, has insisted ditching underwear is the way to go as she hits back at trolls who have said it’s ‘gross’ to leave underwear out.

Sarah said she’s totally in favor of the recent trend of going panty-free, after stars including Kylie Jenner, Miley Cyrus and Fern Britton all endorsed the look.

Speak with The sunSarah said: “I have always been a proud commando girl. I wear my underwear all the time, so much so that my significant other calls it my “uniform.”

‘After a long day at work, I march through the door and take off my underwear. It’s not just guys who need a little air down there, you know.”

Sarah opened up about Kylie’s recent decision to go commando in sheer black tights while modeling Sam Edelman’s shoe collection.

While Vick Hope also followed suit, throwing her trousers into a figure-hugging Versace dress at the Harper’s Bazaar Women Of The Year Awards.

Sarah remembers the first time she decided not to wear her panties to an awards ceremony in her 20s, claiming it was ‘practical’ not to have a VPL (visible panty line).

She revealed that she has done it ‘many times’ since then, saying: ‘I’ve also gone commando in public numerous times. I go to the local supermarket without panties. No one else knows that I’m all shrill under my sweatpants. It’s actually quite liberating.

Sarah’s statement echoes Fern’s comments during her time in the Celebrity Big Brother house.

Fern revealed she doesn’t mind going commando as she and Zeze Millz discussed their underwear preferences.

After doing some laundry, Lauren Simons told Fern that the laundry wasn’t completely dry and was in the dryer, joking that she was “shrinking” all their laundry.

Fern, 66, replied: ‘Oh no, that’s fine because I have a pair of big, good ladies’ trousers.’

Zeze agreed with Fern, adding: “Yes, me too, I love big knickers,” before both women admitted they also have a penchant for going commando.

As Zeze admitted, “I’m not a fan of the big panty line, you know, sometimes I go commando,” Ferne said, “Yeah, me too.”

She continued, “I agree with you. And that’s easy in jeans.’

To which Zeze disagreed, exclaiming, “No jeans, imagine no underwear in jeans.” Fern has confessed that she is ‘completely dried up’.

Reflecting on what her daughters told her, she joked, “My daughters say to me, “Actually, Mom, you’re so old it’s no big deal because you’re all dried up there!” Charming!’.

Fans couldn’t believe what they heard as they took to Twitter to share their shock.

One wrote: ‘sailing as a commando in jeans is something I did NOT need to know’, while a second wrote: ‘We didn’t need to know anything about sailing as a commando’.

A third chimed: “Fern Britton goes commando!! I didn’t need to know this!!
