Sarah Harris turns stomachs with ‘gross’ confession on The Project – and it leaves co-star Liz Ellis appalled

Sarah Harris took oversharing to a new level during Wednesday night’s episode of The Project, and it was enough to have people reaching for the remote.

Harris’ candor came during a segment with Australian physiotherapist Ben Foster, who recently made headlines after saving his beloved dog’s sight by sucking a leech from his eyeball.

During the conversation with the smitten animal lover, Harris was more than happy to turn the spotlight on her.

“I’ve done some gross things as a mother too,” the mother of two said along with panelists Waleed Aly and Liz Ellis.

“You know, when your baby has a runny nose and the consistency is like a leech…” she continued, turning to fellow mom Ellis who knew exactly where the conversation was going.

“Finish the story, what did you do?” Ellis encouraged.

“…I sucked the snot out, okay! Harris continued.

Foster was quick to let Harris know that she is not alone.

“My partner actually does that with our daughter,” he said.

‘I have been vindicated!’ Harris said, but Ellis was having none of it.

“This whole thing is disgusting,” she said.

“I want to make it clear that I would never suck a leech out of my child’s eye, or the snot out of my baby’s nose.”

But Liz, it’s crystal clear that many would.

Take former Project funnyman Tommy Little, Home and Away star Kate Ritchie and comedian Em Rusciano, who have all shared similar stories.

Kate Ritchie

In July this year, Kate Ritchie left the entire Nova FM breakfast team shocked when she revealed she sucked snot out of her daughter’s nose when she was sick.

The former Home and Away star, 44, made the disgusting confession live on Fitzy, Wippa and Kate, leaving her co-host Michael Wipfli in shock.

Convinced she wasn’t alone, the radio host said she sucked “the mucus” out of daughter Mae’s nose when she was “little” and had a cold.

‘I sucked the mucus out of her nose when she had a cold in the shower. With my mouth. When they are small. Everyone does that. No?’ she said.

Wippa, 43, and presenter Matt de Groot, who stood in for Ryan Fitzgerald, were disgusted by Kate’s confession.

“As soon as you said it, I heard a group of people outside the studio saying, ‘No! Nobody does that,'” Matt said.

However, Wippa was left speechless and dropped his head into his hands as Kate insisted that all parents should suck the snot out of their babies’ noses.

“Everyone out there is like, ‘Yuck!'” said another producer.

Tommy Little and Carrie Bickmore

lIn 2019, Tommy Little and Carrie Bickmore indulged in a controversial on-air stunt where he sucked the “snot” out of her nose.

The 34-year-old gagged uncontrollably after siphoning mucus from Carrie’s clogged nostril using a nasal aspirator on the Carrie & Tommy Show.

Tommy agreed to do the stomach-churning act after Carrie explained that she used the aspirator — essentially a long tube that sucks out mucus — on her own three children.

“You’re going to suck my snot out because I have a cold,” Carrie instructed in a clip posted to their show’s Instagram account.

A shocked Tommy cringed and replied, “I’m going to give it an aggressive suck and then we’ll never do this again and you’ll owe me a lot.”

It wasn’t long before the comedian fell over and gagged violently, before whining, “I don’t want to do radio anymore!”

In Rusciano

In 2017, Em Rusciano candidly revealed how she dealt with her young children’s snot, as she and 2Day FM breakfast co-host Harley Breen discussed the parenting trick of sucking out the noses of their children with colds.

The outspoken brunette then admitted that sometimes when she sucked out a ‘booger’ in the middle of the night, “you didn’t spit it out either – sometimes you just swallowed the snot.”

Harley quickly defended the method and revealed that he did it for his newborn son Walter.

“Harley does that every day,” Em confirmed, “Harley comes into work and says, ‘I had to suck snot out of Walt.’
